​From Love Under the Cold Moon by Vanessa Kilmer: 

“Come this way,” said Aalis, pulling him behind her. “My friends and cousins have taken over the pool of the warm spring. Let’s join them. The heat will do your bones good.”
She tugged on his hand when he hesitated.
“I, uh, everyone together?” He felt a fool for asking.
“Of course. What’s wrong with you? You’ve been here before.”
“But,” he stammered. “We were children, then.”
She stopped and he ran into her back. She shook her head and glanced at him over her shoulder. Her eyes were wide, her cheeks rosy. “Yes, well, I, we, ugh.” She stomped a foot.
He laughed.
She punched him hard in his upper arm. It hurt.
“Hey,” he said, rubbing the spot.
She let go of his hand and he felt lonely.
She crossed her arms, drawing attention to her chest and he suddenly felt like kicking himself for questioning their unabashed dealings with nudity. He wanted to see her naked and now he made her self-conscious about something that had always been natural. He remembered the times they went skinny-dipping on his summer visits, groups of children and teenagers cavorting and splashing in the lakes and rivers.
“Why is this so difficult all of a sudden?” she asked.
“I’m being silly,” he said. “Let’s go.” He took her hand and pulled her with him. He knew the way. He knew what he wanted and if he kept his prudish ways to himself, he might get a glimpse of what might be his. His fingers tingled where they touched her flesh. He sped up.
She giggled and he laughed as they ran the short distance from one building to the next, the bright sun warming their faces.
They skidded to a stop just inside the bathhouse which was a few paces from the longhouse. It was built of blocks carved from the surrounding mountains and topped with a slate roof with a hole in the middle to let the steam escape. Wooden benches, worn from generations of use, ringed the walls. Assorted items of clothing decked the seats, as well as piles of hemp drying cloths.
The steamy pool held five people, obviously naked. They stopped talking as he and Aalis entered the steamy room.
He dropped her hand as if it burned him. The silence seemed to drag on.
“Get in here,” shouted a woman Aalis’ age. “We saved room.” She splashed the water next to her.
Aalis went left and he went right.
He peeked at her over his shoulder as she drew tunic, kirtle, smock, and shift over her head. My gods, how many clothes did the woman have on? She turned her back to the room and slid the breeches down her legs. He stared.
“You’re drooling,” said one of the men with a laugh.

FCRW is a non-profit that welcomes both published and unpublished authors, as well as any individuals involved in writing and publishing. The chapter is dedicated to promoting excellence in romantic fiction through monthly meetings and workshops in a comfortable forum.
