Can you, for those who don't know you already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
I have always wanted to write but felt writing a novel seemed like an overwhelming task. I found this platform where stories were updated daily. When I realized I could write a chapter or two a day and achieve my goal of being an author, I took off from there.

Where were you born/grew up at?
I am a Canadian born and raised. My dad was in the air force so we moved a lot, which was not as terrible as it sounds. It was fun to experience a lot of different things growing up and has helped me in my careers today.

If you knew you'd die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day?
With my family.

What do you do to unwind and relax?
To relax I like to read … funny I know. I have a lot of favorite authors on the various platforms. I like to knit and spend time with my dogs.

How to find time to write?
I work full time during the day so my writing is done in the evening. When I started I was excited to see where it went and now it is a habit that I write every day, which I love. I consider it my relaxation time.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I considered myself a write when I earned my first dollar. It was exciting to see me be paid for doing something I love.

What inspired you to write this book?
I wanted to write something a little more challenging for me. So I started in a dark place. I also went with a female lead who would grow to be stronger versus being strong to begin with.

What can we expect from you in the future?
From this story I want to write Alpha Kyle’s story – I think there is something good to share. I want to continue expanding on my scope and really delve into various platforms.

Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Rejected?
The book is called Rejected – it is a story about Elizabeth who has been rejected by her family, friends, Pack and now she waits to be rejected by her mate. But Alpha Carter does not reject her and helps her grow stronger and come into her own power.

How did you come up with the concept and characters for the book?
I typically start to write and try to delve into a storyline. I think about the outline and then start to write.

Where did you come up with the names in the story?
I typically pick names I like – nothing special in the logic. I aim for less favorable names for the antagonists lol.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
I like the twists and turns in the story as well as the growth of the characters.

How did you come up with the title of your first novel?
My first novel was really motivated by the lack of female leads in the stories I had been reading. So Alpha Kate was a strong lead from the beginning and I wanted to see her name in the title.

Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
I learned I like writing two chapters a night versus one. There are days when I only get one in but overall I like to write a couple chapters a day.

Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?
The characters come, entirely, from my imagination.

Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story?
I think they inspire the story. Sometimes it just kind of writes itself and others I really have to focus on what they are doing next.

Convince us why you feel your book is a must read.
I believe it is an exciting story that brings out the best in all the characters. There are bumps in the road but worth it to reach the end.

How long have you been writing?
I started writing two years ago, my anniversary was September

Do the characters all come to you at the same time or do some of them come to you as you write?
A bit of both. Most I know ahead of time, but there are times when someone important pops into a storyline.

Do you see writing as a career?
I definitely hope so. I would like to start writing more than one book at a time. I am aiming to try that next month.

What do you think about the current publishing market?
I think there is so much opportunity for everyone.

Do you read yourself and if so what is your favorite genre?
Currently I read werewolf, vampie and dragon stories. I love to see how everyone takes a different spin on the stories. We have a lot of talented writers out there!

Do you prefer to write in silence or with noise? Why?
A bit of both. The noise doesn’t bother me unless I am writing a complicated scene.

Do you write one book at a time or do you have several going at a time?
Currently one book at a time; hoping to expand to a couple at the same time.

Pen or type writer or computer?
Computer all the way.

Tell us about a favorite character from a book.
From my books – The Beta’s Mate – Sam is a favorite character of mine. He was fun to write and see him evolve.

What made you want to become an author and do you feel it was the right decision?
I have always had an over active imagination. I remember being in school and wanting to write but always felt it was a crazy goal. I loved reading as a child and always thought it would be cool to do my own story. Now I truly believe it was the right decision.

Advice they would give new authors?
Try it – if you want to do it, there is a story to be told and someone who wants to read it!

What makes a good story?
I think that is up to the reader. For me I like turmoil, I like growth, I like to see the main couple get a happy ever after in spite of the challenges.

What is your writing process? For instance do you do an outline first? Do you do the chapters first?
I do a very brief outline and then the chapters write themselves. Sometimes the story follows the outline, but most times it strays off and takes a life of its own.

Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
I like to be original. I like to have a bit of turmoil to start, but watch things evolve as the story unfolds.

If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
Start writing sooner!

How long on average does it take you to write a book?
​It depends on the story. For me it is usually a couple months or slightly more. I do not, personally, want a story to linger too long.
