The Epiphany of an Explorer
(The Brothers of the Aristocracy Book 3)
by Linda Rae Sande

Genre: Historical Romance

Picture
A man only gets one chance to find his Aphrodite … but what if she finds him first?
When archeologist Dr. Stewart Jones, a duke, goes missing and is feared dead while searching for an important Greek artifact, explorer Harold Tennison, Earl of Everly, is pressed into service by fellow members of the Royal Society to find him. Since Harry has already planned an expedition to the Cyclades to search for rare birds and flowers, he sets off for the Aegean to begin his quest.
On his last visit to Delos, Harry was blessed with a visit from a young woman—his very own version of Aphrodite rising from the sea to regard him with an arched eyebrow and a simple question that left him so discombobulated, he could barely speak.
Born of a Mykonian mother and a British duke, Lady Estelle isn’t particularly comfortable in either world. With her father’s recent disappearance and no prospects for marriage, Stella may end up stranded on Mykonos. She spends her days assisting her uncle in his hunt for Greek treasures he can sell to visiting Europeans. At night, she remembers the bespectacled earl who nearly broke her foot during a waltz back in London.
When Harry arrives on Mykonos to begin his hunt for the duke and to resume his own research, he’ll have to learn far more about mythology, antiquities, and Greek goddesses than he bargained for. The search may be worth it, though, but only if he ends up with his very own Aphrodite in “The Epiphany of an Explorer”.

Magic Price
The Crown of Stones Series - Book 1
By C.L. Schneider
Genre: Epic Fantasy

Picture
Ian Troy is one of the Shinree, a fallen people with an inherent addiction to magic. Scorned and reviled for the deadly side of their spells, the Shinree are bred as slaves. Their magic is suppressed by drugs and used only as it serves the purposes of the other races.
Descended from a long line of soldiers, Ian is conscripted into the Rellan army and made to fight in their longstanding conflict against the ruthless Langorian invaders. The downfall of Rella imminent, Ian goes against orders and turns to the Crown of Stones, an ancient Shinree relic of untold power. Ignorant of its true purpose, Ian uses the crown to end the war, and pays a terrible price.
A decade later, still tortured by the aftermath of that day, Ian lives as a bounty hunter in self-imposed exile. Having renounced his magical heritage, he curbs his obsession with a steady stream of wine and regret. He struggles to put it all behind him, until a fateful encounter with a pretty assassin brings Ian’s past crashing into the present.
Targeted by a rogue Shinree, and a ruthless old enemy, Ian is forced to use magic again. His deadly addiction is rekindled and his life of isolation is brought to a swift end. With the land he gave up everything to protect once more in jeopardy, and his people’s future at stake, Ian becomes embroiled in a violent race for control of the Crown of Stones. To save the realms and those he cares for, Ian must embrace the thing he fears most: his own power.

Bodies pressed in on me on all sides. More were piled up beneath my feet. The grass, gorged with assorted fluids and trampled remains, squished under my boots as I carved open my opponent’s chest, pushed him aside, and moved onto the next.
There was always a next. The Langorians were a swarm…an inexhaustible, savage, mindless swarm. And we had no choice but to become like them to survive. To become animals, going at each other, mechanically pushing against the tide, battering whatever stood in our way with whatever we had; clubs, axes, swords, knives—our bruised, bleeding bare hands. Fighting for days, months, years, striving to hold out against an enemy that knew nothing of mercy, an enemy stronger, and far more brutal than us, we’d become something less than we were.
And we were still losing.
I grabbed the Queen’s arm and steered her out of the fray. “We can’t take much more of this.” Needing to be heard, I drew her close. “We should pull back.”
“Pull back?” Queen Aylagar Arcana yanked herself free. She gave me a wild, defiant look. Full of passion and reckless resolve, it made her exotic features come alive. “My order stands. We press on, Troy. As always.”
I shook my head. “Our numbers are dwindling too fast. We can’t win this.”
“We can and we will.” Aylagar raised a hand. She touched my face, and the sound of metal clashing and men screaming seemed to fade away. Brushing back the blood-splattered white strands that had come loose from my braid, she ran a finger down the strong line of my jaw. “Trust me, Love. The Langorians will not have Rella.”
“How can you still believe that?”
“Because I must. Because I have faith.”
“Ayla…” I hesitated. But it had to be said. “I saw the messenger arrive from Kabri. I know he carried orders from the King. You can’t keep ignoring them.”
She dropped her hand and backed up. “My husband is a fool. I don’t care how many messengers he dispatches from his throne, he is not out here. The blood of these men bathes my skin, not his. This is my war, Troy. Mine!” she cried. “We fight. We die. We go on until we prevail—by my command. I will not surrender. That is the way of it. That is the only way.”
My throat went dry at the fire in her. The way she stood, outlined by the backdrop of chaos, flanked by the crackling flames that consumed our camp, with sweat beading on her dark skin and battle-lust glazing her stare, I wanted to pull her into my arms. I wanted to go back to this morning, on the furs of her tent, when Aylagar’s flawless ebony skin was on me. Where status and race didn’t matter and death felt far away. Mostly, I wanted to believe her as I had so many times, that every battle brought us closer to victory. That persistence was our greatest strength, and it would carry us through.
But this was it. King Draken of Langor was throwing everything he had at us, making one final push to wipe us all out. To once and for all lay claim to the land his forefathers had sought, and failed, to conquer. Surrendering was unacceptable; she was right in that. Yet, Aylagar had lost her way. Somewhere along the line, the outcome had stopped mattering to her as much as the fight, and my affection, my awe of her, had blinded me for far too long.
“Give me the order,” I demanded. “Let me shift the odds.”
Her dismissal was quick. “No.”
“We can’t keep going like this, sword for sword, day after day, until there’s none of us left. Let me cast hell down on these black-hearted bastards.”
“I have given you my answer. And it is no different than the last hundred times.”
I moved closer. “You know what I can do. My magic can give us an advantage the Langorians can’t match. We can stop this fucking, never-ending war, Ayla. We can stop it together, with steel and magic. If you’ll just—”
“You are Shinree,” she hissed. “Your kind are meant to do as they are told. Yet, after six years in the ranks you still push for something that I will never bend to.”
“Then you’re as big a fool as the King.”
Her hand, that only a moment ago had caressed me, struck my face. “My husband forced your service in this army upon us both. And from day one, when you stood in my tent, a young man, eager to please, drooling with the urge to cast, I made it plain that this conflict would not be solved with magic. It’s dishonorable. I don’t trust it. I forbid it. You are my best soldier, Troy. I have given you free reign in my bed, but not out here. Not in battle. Ever. Is that clear?”
Staring at her, my heart went cold. “I don’t think I can do this anymore. Fighting as half a man. Ashamed of what I am because you don’t approve. I’m not just a soldier.” I held up the sword in my hand. I called to the stones embedded in the leather-wrapped handle and they began to glow. Their vibrations pressed in through my skin, down into my veins, and the uncertainty washed away. “I’m a Shinree soldier.”
“Put that magic away,” she scolded. “Do you want to kill us all?”
“I can control it.”
“Can you?” Her eyes were harsh. “Can you promise that when your spell steals the strength it needs to be born, that it won’t steal from my men? That it won’t steal from me? Your magic is a disease, Ian. Your need for it, your addiction, clouds your judgment. It threatens us all and undermines my orders.”
“Your orders contradict my duty to keep Rella safe. I’ve tried to pretend they didn’t. I’ve tried to be what you wanted. But I can’t. I’m Shinree, Ayla. I am magic. And if you don’t untie my hands, we will all die here today.”

With fierce determination, I directed my magic-price at the soldier, and cast.
At the last second, the crown stirred. I couldn’t stop. The spell was already taking its due. The man was jerking and shuddering. A massive gust of wind was building inside me. It fled my hand, traveled down the length of my sword, and burst blue from the tip of the blade. My conjured wind crackled and surged across the camp; smacking into the flames and suffocating them with a whoosh so loud and strong it nearly knocked me over as it rushed past.
Blanched, drained, and desiccated, the soldier fell dead at my feet. The sight of him wasn’t even close to dousing the pleasure. The weakness that followed was far less enjoyable. Even less; the stinging pain on the top of my left hand as a new design formed. Black, curving streaks swept up my wrist beneath the brace to bleed into the scars on my arm.

Magic-Borne
The Crown of Stones Series - Book 3

Picture
No other Shinree has borne as much of magic's weight, its pleasure, or its guilt.
The fate of Ian Troy is revealed in the final installment of C. L. Schneider's epic fantasy trilogy, The Crown of Stones.
In one fell swoop, the resistance was shattered. Lives were taken. Hope was lost. Peace slipped like grains of sand through his fingers. So did the Crown of Stones. Now, forced into hiding, Ian Troy grapples for a way to save the realm—and free its people—from the sadistic clutches of Jem Reth; Mirra’kelan’s new self-appointed emperor. Plagued with the knowledge of a tragic future, he strives to influence events and save those he cares for. But his magic has betrayed him, and Fate has other plans.
Marked by the crown, hindered by the transformation spell contained within, each cast brings Ian one step closer to becoming more beast than man. Each move brings the death and destruction foretold in his vision inexplicably nearer. With Langor on the brink of war, and King Malaq’s plan for peace hanging in the balance, Ian returns to the ancient past; seeking an end to the eldring spell and a means to thwart Jem’s growing domination. What he finds there sets off a chain of revelations that leads Ian places he never thought to go.
Entrusted with the future of his race, Ian becomes the linchpin for lasting change. But how much weight can one man carry? And how much is he willing to sacrifice in the name of peace?

Born in a small Kansas town on the Missouri river,I grew up in a house of avid readers and overflowing bookshelves. My first full-length novel took shape while I was still in high school, on a typewriter in my parent's living room. My main focus is adult epic and urban fantasy, but I also dabble in the occasional science fiction or post-apocalyptic story.
Though I have been writing all my life, The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price was my first published novel. Completing the trilogy has been an amazing experience. While I am sad to see Ian and his friends go, I'm also looking forward to breaking new ground.

Hiding Mona Lisa

By Lynn Murphy

Genre: Mystery, Romance, Historical

Picture
A handsome art curator who hates the Nazis...and loves art perhaps a little too much. A beautiful art thief with a crush on the curator. A Nazi with a talent for forgery. All three are determined to save the world's most famous painting from Adolf Hitler. Part mystery, part romance, part fiction and part historical truth, Hiding Mona Lisa raises once again the question of whether the Mona Lisa in the modern day Louvre is the real La Jaconde.

The last thing that Alain Darnay wanted to see was Nazis parading down the Champs Elysees. I know this because he said it often enough in the months leading up to Hitler’s march into Paris. Alain loved the city of lights with every fiber of his being. Loved the beautiful architecture, the flowing Seine, the history. The one thing in Paris that he loved more than any other was the Louvre. He was well acquainted with every work of art, every painting, every sculpture, every canvas, every piece of carved marble, every trinket on display.
I often wondered, as I watched him day after day, if perhaps he loved art too much. Loved it too much to allow himself to fall in love with a person who wasn’t painted on canvas. I watched him and wondered what happened when he went home at night, after the museum guards moved through each floor at closing, employing what is known as ‘the sweep’. How he spent the hours from when the last patron was swept out of the galleries and the doors were locked and the next day’s opening. Where did he go, what did he do in the evenings before the doors were unlocked the next morning?
Of course, loving art as he did, being a curator at the world’s greatest art museum was the only profession in which he would have been employed. The man fit in well with the art treasures that surrounded him as he worked; he was beautiful to look at with his dark hair, smoldering blue eyes and face and form that looked as if he could have been sculpted from marble with Michelangelo’s hand. He was quick to smile and unfailingly polite, even as he moved the tourists back from the works when they got too close. Never once did I observe anyone within the Louvre’s corridors become upset or agitated with him. I watched him day to day, with much interest. He moved with an athletic grace, seemed so at ease in his surroundings. For work he was always impeccably dressed, a crisp unwrinkled shirt, a silk tie, a dark well cut suit. On the occasions when he was required to stay for black tie events after hours, he wore his tuxedo with an ease that stood out around men who seemed uncomfortable to have found themselves in black tie. I never believed him to have been born to wealth; rather, he seemed to be a man who had acquired his social skills on his own.
He was possessed with an uncanny ability to read people. Some curators worked purely behind the scenes but not Alain. The director of the Musees Nationaux, the man who oversaw the Louvre during World War II, Jacques Jaujard, knew that having Alain out of the back offices and roaming the corridors with the patrons was a good thing. The two had much in common. Both were handsome, art savvy, had quick wit and were worldly enough to understand what was happening and what was about to come.
If Jaujard had any doubts about Alain, he kept them to himself. The most interesting conversations they had, at least on the floor, were about the patrons, the crowds that found themselves in the most famous museum on earth.
“What do you make of her?” Jaujard would say, acknowledging a beautiful young woman who was a frequent visitor.
“Not an artist herself,” Alain replied. “She never brings a sketchbook. She studies the artwork with great interest and appreciation and when she speaks it is with an English accent. She also peers at the map with much interest as well. An art thief.”
Jaujard laughed. “But a very beautiful one.”
“Indeed.”
Jaujard pointed out another man, who also was frequently there. “And him?”
“Obviously German, by his coloring and bearing. Copies something into his sketchbook every time he comes. I haven’t quite figured him out yet.”
“And that couple there?”
“Nothing terribly interesting. Just American tourists.”
Jaujard would laugh and go back to his office while Alain wandered among the visitors and paused, every day and on several occasions, to gaze at a few of his own favorites among the Louvre’s vast collection. The man had an almost reverence about him whenever he studied the most famous of all the paintings, the one the French call La Jaconde and the rest of the world calls Mona Lisa. I often wondered if he felt the same about the painting as Napoleon Bonaparte had. The rumor was that the former emperor had loved it so much that he had hung it on his bedroom wall. Clearly, something about the mysterious smile drew Alain in, made him want to cast his eyes upon it with regularity. Some who gaze on the painting react as Alain and Napoleon had; they revere it, adore it, and love it. Others come by and scarcely give it a second glance. Never the less, it is considered to be the jewel of the Louvre and that much was true in those last days of the 1930s when Hitler was an imminent threat.
For those who believe that the entire world was caught off guard by Hitler’s rise to power, it should be pointed out that almost as soon as the man was elected the staff at the Louvre and other French museums began taking precautions against the possibility of war. Perhaps they didn’t anticipate the fact that the Fuhrer would plunder his way across Europe, taking the best of both museums and private collections, but the fear of bombs falling on the country’s treasures was on their minds. In spite of those fears and the preparations that were going on behind the scenes, the Louvre staff continued to go on with business as usual. Each day Alain Darnay walked the halls and admired the collections and assisted the patrons and after working hours, found himself engaged in activities that would endanger both his own life and the artwork that he so loved.

Rescuing Rembrandt
The Louvre Trilogy Book 3

Picture
Three years after the end of WWII, Louvre curator Alain Darnay is still trying to find the owners of the artwork he saved for Jewish collectors during the war. As Jacques Jaujard's tenure with the Louvre is coming to an end, Alain is sent a photograph of a Rembrandt painting that has been missing for almost fifty years. Ironically, the painting is the same one that Alain's closest friend, Fritz Gerhard, did his dissertation on. A series of random clues follows the initial contact and Alain cannot resist trying to determine who has the painting and how to acquire it. As he puts the puzzle together, he falls in love with the Louvre's newest curator, the beautiful Justine Charbonneau. Justine wouldn't mind a relationship with Alain, if it weren't for all the questions he won't answer and the past he won't talk about.

I’ve seen some pretty incredible things these past years during our voyage, everything from Qwan to toothy raptors, but this one takes the cake.
She, assumedly a she by all her physical attributes, tips her head at me with an inquisitive eye.
“Welcome, Captain Tale. My name is Prima,” she says.
I’m still dumbstruck, honestly – I mean, what the hell do I say to an astoundingly beautiful alien, standing naked in front of me? My training didn’t exactly prepare me for this – in fact, there is no precedent in my life to relate to.
She tips her head at me with an inquisitive and humorous eye.
“Are you shocked to see me, Captain?” she asks with a playful grin.
I clear my throat.
“Honestly, I’m not sure what I’m supposed to say.”
“Isn’t it customary to start with ‘Hello’ or ‘Take me to your leader?’” she replies.
Humor always works with me, helping to break down awkward social barriers. And besides, how dangerous can she be, right? I step from the ship and land on firm footing. On what, I have no idea, because just a few minutes ago there was nothing here – absolutely NOTHING!
I’m really trying to act normal, but honestly, there is nothing typical about being greeted by a beautiful and very naked woman here on the edge of nowhere.
“I wasn’t expecting a welcoming party – certainly not…” I hesitate to glance at her entire physique.
“Do you object to my being naked?” she asks.
“Well, not really, but frankly, it’s not the customary greeting protocol.”
“Of course not. Under the circumstances this must seem completely unreal.”
“You could say that.”
“The proclivity to hide sexuality is an aberration in your world, Jim Tale, not mine. But if it disturbs you I can cover myself.”
“That’s ok. How do you know who I am?”
“I know everything about you. Shall we talk, Captain? I promise not to bite.”
She motions me to the left of the ship and there, in the midst of this large room, which seems to have no parameters, no finite surfaces that I can make out, is a small table and three chairs.
I walk over and lower myself into one. Prima slips into the one across from me.
In my defense, I haven’t seen a naked woman in nearly thirty-eight years, not since before Angie died, so the sight of this very shapely, although, intensely unique creature, with her medium sized breasts gently undulating as she moves, is, well … a minor distraction to my male mechanisms.
“Where am I?”
“This,” she waves a hand, “is the Construct, what you might call, the first of all Constructs.”
“What does that mean?”
“It was from this very location that the Universe, which you know, was created.”
Right there I catch my breath.
She continues, as if we’re talking about what’s for dinner or some other mundane shit, without realizing that her statement has just knocked the air out of me.
“Captain, I know you have many questions and I am prepared to answer them, but to do so we must follow a certain path, otherwise all of this will seem too incredible for you to accept. And secondly, time is a critical issue.”
I shake my head.
“I think the “too incredible to be believed boat” has already sailed.
She grins.
“And why is time critical?” I ask.
Prima tips her head to one side – her face becoming more somber.
“Your world is tipping dangerously toward global nuclear war as we speak and if there is any hope of stopping this from happening then we must act quickly.”
“And you expect me to do something about this when I am sitting here at the far end of the Universe, supposedly?”
“Yes I do. In fact, the one and only condition which makes our dialogue possible, and for you to find the answers which you have sought your whole life, is that you first agree to assist me in changing the course of your home planet.”

Victor Hugo said ... "A writer is a world trapped in a person."

That about sums it up for me. Besides the fact that I have a passion to unleash a world of ideas inside of me, my purpose for writing is to inspire others, to remind them that good does prevail over bad, to entertain the minds of readers, and to spark fires all over the world which introduce ideas, which incite activism, evolution for change and not an abiding faith to crusty old mediocrity; and ultimately, to repeat the message which sometimes gets lost in the miasma of life - that no dream is too big to realize - no matter what others may say the stars can be reached by those who want to.

"Everyone enjoys the escape. The thrill of living vicariously through the eyes and skin of characters who do things we may never do, or who in fact, mirror parts of our own lives, or who taunt us to live up to our ideals, our potentials - to our dreams. I write because it's a thrill, because coffee is cheap and I can sit and drink it all day while conjuring up stories for readers to enjoy. Reading is soul food. It opens new horizons to us, it stretches the mind and it reminds us that no dream is too big to realize."

“Have you ever been dominated in bed?”
She gasped in pleasure as his thigh found just the right spot. “Oh my god! I can’t think! What do you mean?”
“Have you ever allowed a lover to dictate to you in bed?”
“You mean obey orders?”
“Yes, or at least cooperate with direction.”
“No, I haven’t done that.”
“Will you allow me to do that tonight?” He traced his free hand over the front of her body, making leisurely circles around her breasts with his fingers.
She arched into his hand. “That’s not fair!" she gasped. "I don’t know what you mean. Oh my god, stop tormenting me and tell me what you want!”
Cadeyrn dipped down to taste her lips. “This is what I want. I want to hold you down and have my way with you. I want you to struggle if you wish, but I want you allow me to have this control. If you truly want me to stop for any reason, if something frightens you or it becomes too much or you are in pain, say the word ‘stad,’ and I will immediately stop. Otherwise, you may struggle and beg as you choose, but I will do as I please. Will you allow this? Do you agree?”
Cassie looked up at the male above her. She was so turned on she could barely breathe. Her thoughts were slow, but she knew he wanted her to give up all control to him. Looking at him, she knew absolutely that she could trust him. If she wanted him to stop, he would stop. If she really wanted him to let her go, he would. She knew that was true without question.
But she didn’t want him to stop. And she didn’t want him to let her go.

Bound By The Summer Prince
Spellbound Hearts Book 2

Picture
The Summer Court is in an uproar. The king has just been executed for unpardonable crimes, and the queen is prostrate with grief over his loss. This leaves the Summer kingdom bereft of true leadership; a problem which is compounded by the fact that the laws of Fairie require balance to be maintained by having a male and a female ruler for both Season Courts at all times. Uaine, the Summer prince, is the only one who can put things right, but he is without a mate. Knowing that he must take a bride quickly, for the sake of his people, even though he is struggling with his own feelings of pain and anger over his father's treachery, he goes for a walk in a forest near the palace to try to clear his head and determine how best to choose a female to rule beside him.
While walking Uaine discovers a human female running loose in Fairie, which is against the most basic tenets of Fae law. Furious at one more problem he must deal with, he takes her prisoner and locks her in the dungeon; only to discover later that she is his soul-mate. The magical bond between them means they are meant to be together forever, but humans can't feel the magic of Fairie. Will Uaine be able to win her heart and convince her that she can trust him to keep her safe from all the dangers of Fairie...including himself?
Roni is a human con woman and petty thief. Having run afoul of the local crime syndicate in the city where she is staying, she finds herself running for her life. Trouble is no stranger to her, but when she falls through a hole in a wall and finds herself in a world with carnivorous trees and rocks that eat people she realizes she may have found more of it than she can deal with. Rescued/arrested by the prince of the Summer Court, it doesn't take long for her to formulate a plan to use him to get herself home. Unfortunately for her, she soon finds that her heart, which she had thought long ago turned to stone, has begun to feel the love she has been playing at. Will she be able to overcome a lifetime of caution and allow herself to follow her heart? Can a criminal love a cop?

Please be aware that this book contains explicit sexual scenes, depictions of BDSM, and anal play. If these things disturb you, then this may not be the book for you.

Noticing that the temperature had increased quite a bit as they walked, Uaine asked; “Are you too warm?”
“Hmmm…?” Distracted by the passing crowd, Roni replied, “Oh no, I love the heat. I’ve never been a fan of winter.”
Marveling again at how perfect this female was for him, the Prince just smiled and nodded.
“Are you feeling better?”
“A bit. The town feels like a happy place for some reason.”
“Trade is good today, my mother has managed to get a few goods from other kingdoms here, and the people are enjoying their bargain hunting. Their happiness is reflected in the energy of the town.”
“How can I possibly be affected by the local Faes’ happiness?”
“Magic is everywhere in Fairie, it saturates the air and the ground. Some magics, especially wild magics, are heavily influenced by mood. If the local populace were angry, the feel of the town would be very different. It’s even possible that a storm would form.”
“The weather is affected by peoples’ moods?”
“It can be.”
“So it’s sunny today because people are happy?”
“Maybe, but not necessarily. Wild magics are unpredictable. I don’t know how a different mood would manifest, I only know it would be different than it is now.”
Sighing, she shook her head and pulled her hand from the prince’s. “The more I learn about this place, the weirder it seems.”
Uaine walked up behind her and put his hands on her shoulders. “But strange doesn’t necessarily mean bad.” He slid one hand down her right arm and reclaimed her hand. “Come with me, I’d like to show you something.”

But Jillian can't shake the feeling that trouble is brewing. Many of the Summer nobles aren't happy about the changes that are taking place in the Summer Court, and many of the other Fae just aren't too sure about having a human on the throne...even if she has been blessed by the goddess. When Angelica, the leader of the Pixies, comes to her with news of a plot to murder the prince and princess, Jillian's suspicions are confirmed. Captivated By The Winter King
Spellbound Hearts Book 3

Picture
Kate is a woman on the run. After years of being physically and emotionally abused by her fiance, she's finally had enough. But leaving might be even more dangerous than staying, so she needs to get as far away as she can as fast as possible. A late night, desperate drive through the pouring rain ends suddenly when a cat appears in the middle of the road. While trying to avoid the half-drowned creature, Kate loses control of her car and crashes through a portal to Fairie.
Ankou is a fallen God of Death and the king of the Winter Court of Fairie, and he's facing pressure from every direction. The magic of the Court is out of balance due to the centuries-long lack of a queen. He is harried constantly by the Court nobles who want him to either step down or take a mate. All the duties of a ruling pair rest squarely on his shoulders. And added to all this is a soul-crushing loneliness. His existence stretches back hundreds of millennia, and in all that time he has never found the one person who could warm his lonely heart. He is exhausted and discouraged, and the last thing he needs is to go tearing off into the night on a fool's errand. But one of his lingering god powers is the ability to sense the right course of action to follow, and his instincts are screaming at him to go to a particular place in the forest of the Winter kingdom and wait. Imagine his surprise when he finds the one he has been waiting for his whole life!
Using a careful blend of patience, seduction, and domination, the Winter king tries to win his soulmate's love. Feeling safe and valued for the first time in her memory, Kate explores her new freedom by agreeing to try the BDSM games her lover suggests. As she experiments with both domination and submission, she learns just how liberating surrender can be. Will Ankou be able to convince Kate that she can trust him with her feelings as well as her body? Will Kate find a way to overcome the trauma of her past and open up her heart to accept the love that is offered to her? Can these two broken people find a way to fit all their disparate pieces together into a stronger, united whole? You'll have to read to find out!

Kate opened her eyes, confused about where she was. Looking around, she saw the remnants of a fire glowing in the fireplace and a large expanse of well-muscled chest. Raising her eyes, she saw Ankou's face still relaxed in sleep and the memories of the night before came back to her.
They had started her recitation of her history on opposite ends of the sofa, but when she told him about the first time Erik beat her she hadn't been able to control her tears. Ankou had moved closer to comfort her, and it had felt so good she hadn't moved away. Somehow, the horror of the past few years seemed more distant when she was in his arms. She didn't remember falling asleep, but it seemed they both had.
Thinking about that, Kate realized she wasn't upset about it. It was nice to wake up next to someone and not be afraid. And she wasn't. It took her a moment's reflection, but she determined that she felt relaxed and content. The absence of fear in another person's presence was a heady sensation, and it made her feel bold.
For a long time, she had craved a connection with another person. She had always wanted to be close to someone who would stand by her and love her for who she was. Such a relationship had eluded her for her entire life, but she still yearned for it with a desperation that often left her breathless. Her doubts lingered, but she hoped that Ankou might be that person for her. He claimed they were soulmates. Did a deeper understanding of another person exist? Maybe, finally, she had found someone she could trust.
Ankou's full lips were just out of her reach, but by stretching just a little bit she could meet them with her own. Did she want to? Did she have the courage? Her desire for touch and affection burned within her, and she decided the answer to both questions was yes. Reaching up, she grazed his mouth with her lips and inhaled his scent. He smelled sweet and spicy at the same time.
Feeling warm and relaxed, Ankou came awake to find his Anamchara's mouth hovering over his own. He waited to see what she would do, not wanting to rush her to do more than she was ready for. When her eyes met his, he saw the question in them and silently gave her consent to proceed if she wished; leaving the decision in her hands. The moment she made up her mind, her lips met his in a gentle caress and he groaned his approval.
The teasing brushes of her mouth against his caused his body to react, and he was aware of every point of contact between them with painful acuity. The feel of her lying against him, her body melting into his, made him want to tear the clothes from her and explore every inch of her delectable form with his tongue. But he knew he couldn't do that. If anything had been made clear during Kate's description of her relationship with the odious human male who had tried to claim her, it was that this woman needed to know her needs would be considered and her limits respected. A precipitous coupling would not give her that reassurance. So he would be patient and proceed at her pace.
The gentle butterfly kisses she gave him progressed to soft nips and firmer contact between their mouths. After some hesitation, she eased her tongue between his lips and he met it with his own. As their kissing deepened, she began to run her hands experimentally over his body. He mirrored her actions; careful only to follow where she led. In time, his patience was rewarded as she moaned in satisfaction and shifted so that the contact between their bodies increased.
Changing the angle at which his thigh lay, he pressed it between her legs and was delighted when she rubbed herself against it. She slid her hands under his tunic, and he shivered as her slender fingers teased his nipples. Moving so as to be able to raise his shirt higher, she was thwarted when it caught under his body. Ankou moaned in ecstasy and shifted in an effort to make it easier for her to remove his clothing.

“He did what?”
“Yeah, he had convinced his boss to hire me as their office manager. I was livid, to say the least.”
“What did Ward say when you confronted him?”
“Well, I haven’t had it out with him yet about it. When I complained about him not helping with the party he told me to stop whining, and that I needed to get my priorities straight.
He thinks I’m spending too much time downtown and commuting leading to me to be stressed. He then stormed out of the condo to the sauna, leaving the cleanup of the party to me.”
“Well, it seems to me you had better have a long chat with him about your love of working in the city. Does he understand you will be traveling with this new project?”
“No, I haven’t told him that yet. It will be a big fight when he finds out.”
“You better have that talk with him soon. Sounds to me like he’s entrenched in the old ways and not willing or able to let you grow. I really think you need to give some serious thought to your relationship. If he can’t support you in how you want to change and grow, then he isn’t the right man for you to be with. Don’t let him stop you or make you doubt the positive direction your life is taking.”
“But I made commitments to him when I got married. That means something to me, through thick and thin. We don’t get divorced in my family. Marriage is a life commitment.”
“Really? Do you think your parents would want you to settle for something less than perfect? Or at least to stay in a relationship that wasn’t supportive of all you want to do and be? You know what I think? I think you’re hiding behind the ‘marriage is for life’ notion because you’re scared of the changes happening in your life. This latest job is going to be a huge stepping-stone for you. It’s natural to be a bit apprehensive. Don’t let a tie to an old life dictate what you want to do. Do you want this job? Do you want the challenge it will bring?”
“Yes, more than anything in my life. This is what I want to do.” Katie contemplated her parents, and particularly her mom. They would want her to do what she needed to do to be happy.
“Then don’t let the chains of the past hold you to a life that doesn’t fit anymore. And really think about this. Would your parents really want that for you? Tied to a life that doesn’t fit, but that you’re making work because it is what is expected of you? Or would they rather you be flying high and free, testing the limits of what you can do and be?”
“Hey, Carol? I need your help in here. The pastries are ready to go,” yelled Ken from the kitchen.
“On my way, darling,” Carol responded. She turned to Katie. “Think about what I’ve said. Really think about what you want and who you want to be. Don’t let the expectations of others hold you to a life that isn’t meant for you, at least not anymore.”
She then rose to go help Ken. “I’ll send John back in here to talk to you. I think you both need that. I can see the bond developing between you.”

Thirty minutes later they were on the ground and parked at the terminal building. They deplaned, and Neil led Kelly over to a limousine that was parked just outside the tarmac area.
“Mr. Adams? Please allow me to settle you into the car. I understand your destination is the Lighthouse Beach area?”
“Yes please, my thanks for meeting us at the airport.”
“My pleasure, sir.”
The car quickly left the airport behind and drove toward the waterfront area. Neil pointed out a spectacular church on his side of the car, and Kelly was so busy taking in the views around her, that she scarcely noticed when he slid his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close to him. The feeling of his hand and arm around her shoulder felt so natural that she just snuggled closer to him. His hand tightened on her. She looked at him in the dimly lit interior of the car. She recognized the passion she saw in his eyes, and was pretty sure that it was reflecting the passion in her own eyes.
They stared at each other for a brief moment. Kelly saw his gaze start to drift lower to her lips. She licked them nervously, both wanting and fearing his kiss. He bent his head and gently placed his lips on hers. Kelly let herself drift with the sensations that engulfed her with the tender pressure of his lips. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before. There was softness and yet a harnessed passion that she could feel within him and building within herself. She was struggling with the heat pooling in her body. This was a feeling both sudden and startling in its intensity.
She suddenly realized that the car was no longer moving. Drifting on the passion of the kisses, she could vaguely hear the chauffeur commenting that they had arrived. As he opened his door, the spell she was under was broken. Nervously she pulled away from Neil as the door was opened and they exited the car, moving toward the restaurant.

Reading David Luddington is like “Like reading your favourite sitcom.”
– Nigel Planer

“The funniest book of the year.”
– Claire Ashton, Editor the Book Reviewer.

Retired stage magician turned professional mystic debunker, John Barker, finds his sceptical beliefs under fire when he encounters a strange man who claims to be Merlin. After several unsuccessful attempts to rid himself of his increasingly unpredictable companion, John finally relents and agrees to assist in the man’s crazy mission, to find the true grave of the mythical King Arthur.
Following a hidden code contained within the text of a soft porn novel, they gather a growing entourage of hippies, mystic seekers and alien hunters as they leave a trail of chaos across the south west of England. When the group comes to the attention of a TV Reality Show producer looking to make a fast profit out of harmless eccentrics and fading celebrities, John decides it’s time to take charge and prove one way or the other, the identity of this mysterious person who claims to be a fictional wizard.
“Whose reality is this anyway?” is a warm-hearted tale of what it means to be an individual and to follow one’s dreams. With his trademark cast of oddball characters and absurd situations, David Luddington once more transports us into a world where who you are is more important than what you are.

In case you don't know, I write comedy. Gentle British comedy. Having grown up with P.G. Wodehouse, the Ealing Comedies and the Carry On movies I like to think I've captured the essence of traditional British Humour but brought it firmly into the... where are we now? No... Not going to think about that.
I also write to a theme. I write about identity, the personae we use to identify ourselves in the world and what happens when that's suddenly taken from us. Who are we when the wave we've been riding all these years dumps us on the shores of Couldn't-Care-Less and moves on? Having been dumped by two big waves I do feel somewhat of an authority.
Primarily I write comedy because I want people to laugh a bit more. I believe in Hope and Second Chances and like to bring a positive feel to my writing. And it doesn't matter if the glass is half empty or half full as long as it's still got at least some beer in it. Although if you're looking for cruel, biting satire then please buy my books anyway. You'll be disappointed but I need the money.
So, about me. I currently live in the Alpujarras in Southern Spain. I'm here on a fact finding mission for my next book. At least that's what's going on my tax return. I am fortunate enough to have been given a second chance at life. Having spent most of my working life in Sales and Marketing, at all levels and many different industries, I was finally dumped one last time when the industry I was in found it could no longer survive so much government help and finally collapsed.
I now live in a funny little house in a strange little valley with my wife and soulmate (Just hope they never bump into each other), one dog and an indeterminate number of cats.

“This writing is beautiful. It's so calming to read, especially given the circumstances of the plot. I would not mind seventeen more books by this author. Her writing is simply wonderful. Loving the first sentence: 'The suicides began shortly after Lena arrived at St. Lucy Academy.' If that doesn't pull you in, I don't know what will.”

“This book is well written, creepy, and will have you wondering if YOU'RE actually crazy. I'm a big chicken so I couldn't read it in the dark or if I was at home alone. The suspense kept up a certain level of tension throughout the whole book and there were some plot twists that made me ask "What the hell?" out loud. I will be keeping my eye out for more from Azzurra Nox!”
- Ella Drayton, Writer in Progress Book Blog

Sixteen-year-old Lena Martin’s idyllic world shatters the night her mother dies due to a hit and run accident. Two years later, her dad relocates her from Italy to Los Angeles to help her put behind the time spent in a psychiatric ward following her mother’s death. But the move only proves to be a fatal mistake. Shortly after her arrival, the classmates of her new private school begin to commit suicide under mysterious circumstances after reading a cult book called Cut Here.
Determined to unravel the mystery behind the suicides, she bands together with loner Jonathan Russe and outcast Hope Peters to figure out exactly what is happening, not realizing that this places them under a dangerous radar. During this same time, Lena falls for a mysterious and attractive guy named Michael, who is as equally disarming as he’s dangerous.
As her attraction grows, so does the body count at St. Lucy Academy. Soon, Lena needs to decide whether to stay away from the guy she’s falling for, or to trust him. Is Michael behind the suicides, or is he the key that can unlock the mystery that can stop the bloodshed? Deceptions run high and Lena soon learns that nothing is what it seems.

Warpaint
Warpaint Trilogy Book 1
By Stephanie Smith

Genre: New Adult

Picture
Warpaint is a haunting tale of friendship and rivalry between three women artists, who’ve known each other for years, who must come to terms with imminent mortality and artistic frustration: Liz Moore, born poor in Minnesota, fought her way to New York in the 1920s, but isn’t “discovered” until late in life; C.C. Davis, a well-to-do New Yorker is Moore’s only student, and rival, who, just after WWII achieves some small success, but feels, as she faces cancer in 2002, a failure; and Quiola Kerr, part Ojibwe, once C.C.’s lover, who is caught in the middle, and who, as a painter in the 21st century, has the most doubts about art’s value in an electronic world. In April 2002, all three meet a week before C.C.’s mastectomy at a MOMA retrospective for Liz Moore, but their reunion is tense. Still, they try to cope, until C.C. makes an unexpected and controversial choice, one which nearly breaks the bonds these three took so many decades to forge, and forces Quiola to try to confront Liz, who she believes deliberately sabotaged C.C.’s career.
Warpaint features American women painters, native american or American Indian (Ojibwe) history; it has a lesbian couple at the heart of the story; it’s about trying to survive breast cancer and choosing suicide; it features New York City, Paris, Minnesota and Connecticut. The Indian character, Quiola Kerr, shows up in the next book…

Baby Rocket
Warpaint Trilogy Book 2

Picture
In 1966, a child is found abandoned in a rocket ride on Cape Canaveral. Traumatized, she could not speak when the police found her, only a few yards from her dead mother. So first responders called her “Baby Rocket.” As an adult, this child (Clementine “Lem” Dance) has no memory of this event. She only discovers her past when her adoptive father, James Walter Dance, Jr. has a fatal heart attack. Lem, a women’s historian who is writing a book about the Mercury 9, finds files while cleaning out her father’s apartment that he had been collecting in order to tell her the truth. Without him, she must piece together her story—why was she abandoned? What happened to her parents? How did her mother die? Who is her biological father? Doing so will take her from California back to the Tri-State area, where she now lives; to Florida, where she will find her mother's roots and her mother's life-story; and, finally, to Martha's Vineyard, where she will come to terms with what she can recall and what she has uncovered about the wrenching facts of her early years.

The Gossip of an Earl
(The Widows of the Aristocracy Book 1)
by Linda Rae Sande

Genre: Historical Romance

Picture
Extra! Extra! Read all about it ...
The Earl of Fennington has a secret identity—that of Mr. Pepperidge, editor of London's premiere gossip rag, The Tattler. While attending a garden party as Fennington, he meets and falls in love with an earl's daughter. The attraction is mutual, for despite knowing better, Lady Emelia allows him to kiss her behind a hedgerow. Who will know but them?
When the earl asks permission to marry Emelia, her father denies him, requiring him instead to court Emelia for eight weeks. He's only allowed to see her once each week, however. Desperate to spend more time with her, Fennington devises a scheme in which he'll be able to do just that, but in disguise. Emelia will have to meet Mr. Pepperidge in the park once a week to provide him the on-dit she hears whilst paying calls in Mayfair parlors. That, or he'll print the news of her kiss with Fennington in The Tattler!
Jane Vandermeer, Dowager Countess of Stoneleigh, is considering a move to the Continent—a year of mourning after a loveless marriage has left her wanting something more. When her long lost love, Andrew Burroughs, appears at Lord Weatherstone's ball and informs her he'll be spending the evening—and hopefully the rest of his life—with her in London, the future is suddenly looking bright. That is, until The Tattler prints a report of Andrew kissing Lady Jane in the gardens during the ball. A different Jane.
Hurt and angered, Jane goes about trying to discover the truth while Andrew is seeing to the restoration of the childhood home he hopes to share with Jane.
With mistaken identities ruling the reports in The Tattler and a new Gossip Goddess sharing news of obscure aristocrats, is it any wonder the members of the ton love to hate gossip? Or do they really love "The Gossip of an Earl"? The Tattler knows!

“I have no intention of leaving you alone tonight.”
Pulled from her reverie by the odd statement, Jane stared at Andrew. “Oh?” was all she could think to say.
Andrew allowed a chuckle. “I do hope I haven’t scandalized you, my sweeting.”
My sweeting.
Goodness, they had just become reacquainted after eighteen years, and he was already using an endearment only suitable for couples who were ...
Lovers.
Jane inhaled sharply. Is that what Andrew Burroughs intended? To make her his mistress? To offer carte blanche?
“Oh, Christ, I have scandalized you,” he said with a roll of his eyes. He straightened in the squabs and gave a quick shake of his head. “I apologize, my lady. It’s not my intention to take liberties, nor to ...”
“I am rather flattered, actually,” Jane interrupted with a shake of her head. “No one has ever called me ‘sweeting’. Not even my husband, but then I suppose you already knew that.” This last was said in a quieter voice, as if she realized her place in her husband’s life was well known to others.
How many women in the ton knew of her despair at being left alone for months at a time as her late husband spent all his time away from London? He was only ever at their mansion in Westminster when Parliament was in session, and even then, he spent most of the time when he wasn’t in the House of Lords at his club, Boodles.
“I did not,” Andrew said with a shake of his head. He sighed and was about to say something else when the coach suddenly halted.

I am Katharine E. Hamilton... author, writer, ranch wife, little sister, friend, new mom, and did I mention, writer? :)
My journey as an author started in 2008 with a simple gift to my niece, Taylor. Creating her a story all her own for a Christmas present, and seeing her reaction to a unique story made me start thinking about diving into the writing world. How simple a spark that would then lead to my first published work, The Adventurous Life of Laura Bell. Each story has a story all its own, based on people I love and special memories I share with them.
Laura Bell hit the shelves in 2009 and I quickly began work on my next book, Susie At Your Service. While working on this one though, I had several minor set backs. Computers failing, an apartment flood that soaked my illustrations, you name it, it happened. So what I thought would take a few months ended up taking me a year and a half to rewrite and redraw the illustrations and another year to push the publication forward. While working on Susie, I also had an idea for another book, Sissy and Kat. Let's just say the year of 2012 was a busy year. Two books, changing jobs, moving to three different cities, and planning a wedding... really add up! :) But perseverance paid off, and Susie hit the shelves, officially, in January of 2013 followed by Sissy and Kat in March 2013.
As of April 3, 2015, my first fantasy fiction novel, The Unfading Lands, released on Amazon. Within it's first four days, The Unfading Lands hit the Hot 100 New Releases, and has not slowed down from there. Part Two in The Unfading Land Series, Darkness Divided, released in October 2015 with a wonderful kick off and reached #20 on the Amazon Hot 100 list. Part Three, Redemption Rising, Part Three in The Unfading Lands released May 2016 and it did not disappoint either. The entire series has been nominated for the Summer Indie Book Awards of 2016, and The Unfading Lands, Book 1, has been nominated for the Best Indie Book Award for 2016.
As well as continuing the adventure in The Unfading Lands, I have also contributed a short story, If the Shoe Fits, to an Indie Author Anthology, by Ian D. Moore and Friends in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. All proceeds of sales of the anthology go straight to the charity. The anthology released in July 2015.
It has been quite a journey thus far and I am looking forward to several more chapters to come. I aim to keep you all informed on new releases, potential submissions, and all things new in the realm of Katharine E. Hamilton books. I also want to share this journey with my readers. As I continue paving my path in the book world, I hope that you would join me!

Finding A Way
The Unexpected Love Series Book 1
by T.E. Black

Genre: NA Romance

Picture
I am finally free.
This is my chance for a fresh start.
My chance to live the way I want to.
Boston is my destination.
Just when I think things are going to get better from here, I meet him.
Malcolm Davis.
He is the image of masculinity, with rough edges I would love to soften. Although I wonder what it would be like to be with a man like him, I know it would never work. But, I do know two things, ever since I met him, I’m happy and he makes me feel safe. Both of those things lured me into taking a chance. I mean what’s life without taking any chances? It’s not much of a life without the risk of getting your heart broken.
I imagine that for Malcolm Davis, falling in love with someone would be akin to a hurricane; anything that stands in the path of what he wants; gets demolished.
Well, I guess my theory will be put to the test.

Finding Serenity
The Unexpected Love Series Book 2

Picture
Book #2 of The Unexpected Love Series. It is recommended that Finding A Way is read first, but each book can be read as a standalone.
When it was good, it was great.
When it was bad, it was worse.
My life turned into a whirlwind of destruction before I even got the chance to love her.
Shay Kirby could have been my angel, my saving grace; I never gave her the chance.
I gave myself a taste of her angelic kiss, convincing her to love with everything she had. Then I destroyed her. I destroyed both of us and I felt nothing as I did it.
I didn't feel anything in my sorry state.
We both had secrets and both of them would have destroyed us in one way or another.
Hers could have possibly been bigger than mine, but I doubted it from the start.
I knew I had the quality of devastation within me the entire time.
After all,
I'm the king of lies.
I'm the king of addiction.
I'm the king of turmoil.
I'm the king of motherf*cking heartbreak.

This book contains sensitive material. Recommended for ages 18 and up.

New Adult and Contemporary Romance author, T.E. Black, also known as Tiffany, is never without a book in her hand. Whether she’s reading the newest release from a fellow author, or proofreading one of her own drafts, she’s always keeping busy.
Tiffany writes about imperfect heroes and strong-willed heroines. While, her heroines are known for going to head to head with the men in her stories, the heroes she writes always have that special touch of alpha.
When she’s not immersed in the literary world, Tiffany makes use of her time by being a full-time graphic designer for a company she owns and operates, creating book covers, teasers, banners, and swag for other authors and herself.
She began writing when stories she had read sparked an idea. She plotted her story, wrote three chapters, then scraped it where she let it sit in her computer for months. Instead of focusing on the potential of the story she had begun, she couldn’t help but feel as if she would never be able to publish a book as good as the ones she had read.
Months later, she obtained the courage to go back to her laptop and open up the dreaded first draft she had written. With a clear head and determination, she worked for hours on perfecting the three chapters she had written.
When she sat back in her seat, looking over her six thousand words, it clicked.
The story fell into place.
The characters spoke to her.
The plot lines began to pour from her fingertips, landing on her keyboard.
And then it finally happened.
She had written a novel.
Love it, like it, or hate it, Tiffany loves hearing from her fans! Feel free to connect with her!

Harry Houdini is enraged that a psychic has been proclaimed authentic by Scientifica magazine without his blessing. He makes it his mission to discredit and imprison Pia Palladino. This is the first installment of the opening battle in the war.
Pia Palladino's erotic lesbian gypsy adventures are set in 1920's America, when the country was in the throes of the Jazz Age and gripped by magicians and mediums who promised conversations with the dead and superhuman physical acts.

"Whenever I need to masturbate, I read Lady Ristretto," Mileva Einstein, wife of Albert Einstein.

"Where does she come up with these things???" Marie Curie, two time Nobel Prize winner

A fun, short read that's absolutely intriguing! While part of a series about Pia, this book was easily read as a standalone with a bit of a cliffhanger at the end that made me want to continue the series. With some really fun and hot F/F scenes, the erotica was tastefully written while still sticking to the storyline of Houdini enlisting Ann to defraud Pia. I thoroughly enjoyed this steamy little read and would love to see more!

I worked for almost ten years in coffee (Starbucks, Barnes & Noble cafes) when I quit and turned to writing erotica full time.
That's a little misleading. Let me back up about twenty years. I decided I wanted to write professionally when I was in high school (not erotica, but my work definitely skirted the issue in an obvious way, but it eventually manifested itself in plays. They were the only thing I could finish. I did write poetry, but it was riddled with teen angst and pocked with imagery involving bleeding walls of flesh and a knight chess piece. And I kept a diary which, at the time, I wrote at an astonishing rate of half to one blank book a day.
While at UCLA, I wrote plays on the side. Sometimes during class. Sometimes inspired by my classes. While I took archaeology, queer literature and vampire fiction I wrote a radio play about a cross dressing archaeologist in Mexico who unknowingly unearthed a vampire.
After UCLA I had no idea what to do with myself and missed college a week after I graduated. I had my first full length play produced by a small theater in Illinois, and the director told me I'd learn much if I got my MFA in playwriting. So I went to Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and got my MFA.
I wasn't the best graduate student. I was willful, stubborn, contrary, fiesty, combative. My work started to enter the realm of erotica and, being life stage plays, this became problematic. Especially in a university theater. I had written a one act play about pony play, which the department found too objectionable and unstagable to produce. Another one act was about a lesbian astronomer who falls in love with a star, and has a kind of "sex" scene with the star involving a nude scene.
My thesis play was about a woman who pretends to be a man online, and has cybersex with another woman. I didn't want this to be my thesis. For my thesis, I wrote a full length version of Dying in Pleasure. But that was immediately found to be objectionable: too violent and misogynistic for undergraduates actors.
But I got out of there, and spent a couple years working on a novel version of Dying in Pleasure. I couldn't let it go. During this time I went to Pompeii and it was harrowing. The condition of the town and seeing the bodies on display was extremely disturbing. No matter what professors had said about my play, I wasn't going to abandon the story.
I eventually landed in Texas to work on my Phd. While there I began my own theater company to produce my works almost exclusively. This is when erotica and playwriting truly merged, and I became quite the controversy.
The theater lived almost two years before bankrupting, and I suppose I slid underground. I wrote very little and focused on coffee. Many personal issues and complications and life changes later, I find myself in Southampton, England and writing erotica full time. I work on novels and write short stories on commission. I've been building a significant online presence and have worked hard to be successful.
Publishing Dying in Pleasure has been more than a professional hurdle and accomplishment. It's the culmination of years of work, my development as a writer, my obsession with Pompeii and my stubbornness.
Presently, I'm working on a mermaid erotica novel which I hope to be the first book in a series.
PS. A question suddenly occurred to me--why erotica? I've been fascinated with sex and sexuality for years. At this point, nothing really shocks me (although every once in a while, something new pops up that does), and it all fascinates me. I don't judge anyone. I don't write about everything (such as child molestation), but I don't look down on furries and golden showers and any form of BDSM.
I think what intrigues me the most is the power sex has over us. How sex can turn an intelligent, well balanced, logical and emotionally stable person into a panting beast. I've experienced it myself. One of my best friends said of me, "How could someone so intelligent do something so stupid?" What I had done was stupid, but how it happened in simple: sex. I didn't know how to wield the power of sex. It was a sword I was too weak to carry and it cut me in a thousand places. It had nothing to do with intelligence. Sex never does.
Intelligence is realizing that sex is powerful. And sometimes it's okay to give in to it, and other times it's not.

RETRIBUTION RIDGE
by Anna Willett
Genre: a dark, gripping and intense suspense thriller

Picture
A small hiking group in the wilderness – with bloody revenge for company
Milly has barely spoken to her sister Judith in years. They hardly exchanged a word at their mother’s funeral. They could not be further apart.
So when Milly gets an invitation to go on a hiking trip, she hopes it will be an opportunity for reconciliation. Inviting her school-friend Harper along with her for support, the small party head off together into the bush.
What awaits Milly is far from just a bracing hike in the wilderness, but an unexpected encounter with the past. The form it takes is revenge. But who is enacting it against Milly, and why?
Intense, gripping, and full of suspense.
Whilst the action in this book comes thick and fast, it is the relationship between the sisters and their mutual friend, Harper, that introduces the true darkness into the story.

If you enjoy nail-biting suspense fiction with great twists, RETRIBUTION RIDGE is for you.

This book is set in the rugged landscape below Perth in South Western Australia, an area the author has explored in depth. You may also enjoy her first thriller, BACKWOODS RIPPER.

Oh wow - Anna has done it again! She's quickly becoming my favorite thriller author! This dark and intense thriller take you to the outback of the Australian wilderness with two sisters who are trying to reconcile after years of not speaking to each other. Haunted by a tragic accident from their teens, boundaries are pushed and deeply buried secrets are revealed through flashbacks to the accident that took a friend's life. Little do they know, the past is dogging their steps through the wilderness as they're stalked by two sinister men seeking retribution. With some nicely graphic survival scenes and deeply wrought emotion, this story was masterfully written and ensnared me from the very beginning. Full of twists and turns with plenty of surprises, I found myself holding my breath quite a few times to see what would happen next. I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed this story and really can't wait to see what the author brings us next!

An absolutely absorbing read! This book reminds me of Misery meets The Hills Have Eyes! The writing is extraordinarily great with vivid descriptions and palpable emotions. As you get to know the characters, you can't help but feel for them and their struggle for survival. It was very interesting to see Paige's transformation as she battles for herself, her husband Hal and their unborn child. There were quite a few moments that had me cringing in delicious horror as chills raced up my back! The story is very well woven and flows beautifully, with plenty of plot twists thrown in. Every time it slowed down, a new thrill was thrown in, keeping me on my toes....and grateful I still have them all! This is a story that has stuck with me for days after finishing the book, and I find myself mentally shivering as I think of certain parts of it. This book isn't that gory, it's just the emotions you feel with the characters hit home so hard it feels like it's happening to you. This was a wonderfully written book that gave me a roller coaster of chills and thrills that I would recommend to anybody that likes a thriller, horror or just something deliciously suspenseful to read!

I was born in California and have lived in multiple states from the west coast to the east coast. I really cannot remember a time when I wasn’t reading a book. At school, home, on vacation, at work at lunch time, and yes even a few pages in the car (at times when I just couldn’t put that great book down). Though I have read all sorts of genres I have always been drawn to fantasy. It is my way of escaping to a simpler time filled with magic, wonders and heroics of young men and women.
Other than reading, I has always enjoyed the outdoors. From the beaches in Southern California to the warm waters of North Carolina; from the waterfalls in the Northwest to the Rocky Mountains in Utah; I have appreciated the beauty that God provides for us. I also enjoy hiking, discovering nature, playing a little basketball or volleyball, and most recently disc golf. I have a beautiful wife who has always supported me and three beautiful children who have been the center of my life.
I began writing stories in elementary school and moved on to larger novels in my early adult years. I have worked in corporate finance most of my career. That, along with spending time with my wonderful family and obligations at church have made it difficult to find the time to truly dedicate to writing. In the last few years as my children have become older I have returned to doing what I truly enjoy – writing!

A beautifully written love story that had my heart fluttering! While it can easily be read as a standalone, the book ties into the first with characters that we were introduced to in The Wren. For this book, we journey with Logan, Matt's brother as he stops in to check on Molly's friend Claire on his way through. When he finds her dressed provocatively and dwelling in a run down brothel, he assumes the worst, yet decides to look past that to the fragile young girl he encountered back at the Ryan ranch a few months ago. Claire is actually quite innocent in the ways of the world, despite growing up in a brothel and has grown up becoming strong and independent. After her mother and younger brother go missing during her absence, she sets out by herself to discover their whereabouts. Logan tags along to protect her with her grudging acceptance. As they discover details of where her family is, sordid details about the beating she endured in the past come to surface, as well as some intriguing secrets about a treasure in the hills. With tons of breathtaking action and adventure with some villains that you just love to hate, this story was absolutely gripping! As both Logan and Claire battle their growing feelings for each other, a beautifully touching love story emerges that set my heart aflutter! I thoroughly enjoyed this gripping and passionate western adventure and found myself quite immersed into the intricate details the author put into everything!

An absolutely gripping new addition to the series! While the first 4 books were closely connected with the characters, this book is set a few years later after young Molly Rose has grown up. She arrives in Colorado to visit her brother, only to find he has disappears. While trying to uncover details about his absence, his old partner and friend, Jake the "Jackal" decides to step in and protect her. With breathtaking adventures into the mountains to search out a mythical lode, they must deal with murder, betrayal, blackmail and a harrowing race to be the first to stake a claim on the mythical lode. Meanwhile, they must also deal with their budding attraction as Molly Rose discovers love and Jake finds himself wishing to settle down for the first time. He has quite a challenge as Molly Rose is intent on living a life of adventure. With quite a few villainous characters and miners that truly have gold fever, this book was absolutely packed with adventure and action that left me breathless at times an had my heart fluttering with the intense romance wrought throughout. I was completely ensnared with this amazing book and found myself quite unable to put it down!

As a child, Kristy McCaffrey frequently narrated to herself. It soon became apparent that she had an affinity for this writing thing. Raised on a steady diet of sci-fi/fantasy and tales of King Arthur, she transferred this love of mythic storytelling to penning western romances once she decided, at long last, to pay attention to her natural inclinations. Educated as an engineer, she swiftly gave that up to be a stay-at-home mom and aspiring author. She and her husband live in the Arizona desert, where their four children are in varying stages of flying the nest. A great love of travel frequently ends up on her blog, along with attempts at humor. This is often at the expense of her kids, which has led them to proclaim, "We will no longer read your blog, Mom." They also refuse to follow her on Twitter. Kristy believes life should be lived with curiosity, compassion, and gratitude, and one should never be far from the enthusiasm of a dog. She also likes sleeping-in, eating Mexican food, and doing yoga at home in her pajamas.
