Dagger Devils Reapers MC Book 5 by Ruby Carter Genre: Dark MC Mafia Romance
If there’s one thing I’ve always known, it’s that I need to dominate; in my club, over our rivals, and in the bedroom. I get what I want, and I’m always in control, chasing the pain and pleasure I crave with as many women as I can get—or at least I was, until I met Kelly fuckin’ Davis. She’s strong-willed, relentless, and she pushes my buttons like no other woman I’ve ever met. She may be 15 years younger than me, but I can’t quench my thirst for her. I want—no, I need—to own her ass…
He tells me I’m too young for him and that I shouldn’t play games, but no man has ever made this ‘little girl’ feel like Dagger does. I’ve needed more of him since the first time he showed me his deepest desires, but he refuses to give into the hunger between us. Luckily, even an ultra-alpha like him is no match for this feisty Latina. I need to be dominated as much as he needs to dominate, and it’s time to show him who’s really in control…
Determined that no woman can tame him, lifetime bachelor Dagger shuns relationships for a life of casual hook-ups with any woman he wants—except one. As much as he tries to fight his forbidden desire for her at first, Kelly Davis has other ideas, and Dagger finds his possessive instincts starting to win out. However, just as Dagger begins to surrender to the chemistry between them, a cruel twist of fate threatens to rip it from him forever.
As MC and Mafia collide and the stakes of club life become higher than ever, will Dagger’s desire for Kelly give him the courage to form an alliance from an unlikely source, or will his need for control spell the end of their connection—and life as he knows it—for good? Find out in the darkly explosive finale of author Ruby Carter’s Devils Reapers MC series, Dagger.

Can you, for those who don't know you already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
Hmmm something about me, I’m a bit of a geek I’m a huge fan of Star Wars, Marvel and DC films. I’m a massive fan of Frank Sinatra, have been since I was around 7, I was at my Grandparents and one of his films came on I believe it was High Society and when I asked my Grandad who he was that was it he even made me a mixed tape of his songs and when I was 9 Frank had died I saw the news I burst into tears absolutely devasted running up to my Mum shouting “Franks died!”
I only in my early 20’s started to get really into books… but it was the Twilight books that got me into reading. I first started writing after I found my now future husband to be, who side note my first book ‘Axe’ is based around, it’s a semi-autobiographical book. I had read so many different books and I actually had this itch to get my own story out there into the world only for women to see that you can go through domestic abuse, and still find love and heal at the same time not just the physical but the emotional, mental battle scars. I reached out to two of my favourite authors and asked for their advice and Jordan Marie – gave me the best advice, write it, get it all out on the page, tell my story. Then after the first book was first released, I wasn’t planning for a whole series I still can’t believe I have written one book let alone five it’s crazy!
What are your pet peeves?
One of my biggest pet peeves is people eating with mouth open and smacking of lips. Arggghh!! Just writing about it is setting my teeth on edge. Another is people dragging their feet on the floor and smokers but that’s mainly because of personal reasons.
What are you passionate about these days?
At the moment in my head, phone and laptop it is filled with everything about my books, and wedding! Me and my Fiancé are hoping (fingers crossed) to get married in 2021. So, with COVID and businesses reopening up again we are trying to book all the suppliers to make sure we get everything! It’s a bit of a mad rush with that and trying to get Dagger ready and released.
How to find time to write as a parent?
Oh gosh… When writing Flex (book 2) I had major writers block and yes, it is definitely a thing! I hadn’t picked him back up for nearly 2 years…yup 3 years and I was on maternity with my newborn baby he was around 7 months old when I jumped back into Flex and The Devils Reapers MC world again. My baby boy had quite a few naps then, so I would write when he was napping, sleeping and when I could, whether on laptop of writing bits on my phone.
Do you believe in writer’s block?
Yes! Yes! And YES! The voices disappear and don’t want to talk to you scrap that they refuse to talk it’s heart breaking, and I couldn’t pull anything out.
Describe yourself in 5 words or less!
Kind, talkative, honest, loyal and goofy sense of humour (good lord I sound like a dog HA!)
Who is your hero and why?
My fiancé, my mum and sister they all saved me.
What did you enjoy most about writing Dagger?
The main female character Kelly, is unfiltered feisty female I absolutely loved that about her, I had free reign whatever she says in Dagger and the other books is exactly her unfiltered and hilarious some of the things that popped into my head and onto the page had me in stitches. To have that in a character is the best way it was so easy to do as an author.
If your book had a candle, what scent would it be?
Tequila and Nutella scent maybe not together. – inside joke you’ll get it when you read Dagger ;oP
If Dagger was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
Jake Mattila my cover model he is the nicest so sweet and so supportive. Kelly I would have either Diane Guerrero she is on my inspiration board for Dagger and shes stunning.
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Dagger?
Dagger – he’s 40 years old a lifetime bachelor and damn proud of it, he’s the Devils Reapers Sergeant at Arms, red haired, bearded and tattoos galore. He’s the quite one of the club, reserved but knows what he likes and is the ultra-alpha male.
Kelly - she’s 25 an unfiltered feisty, she speaks her truths, she is the friend that all girls need, she’s a talented make-up artist also in make-up special effects and owns her own business. She’s half Mexican and knows exactly what she wants and that the red headed, stubborn man who showed her his deepest desires…
What kind of research do you do before you begin writing a book?
With Axe and Flex I used my own emotional experiences for both these books. Axe is semi-autobiographical I used my own diary, real life events and put it into Axe.
With Bear, I did loads of research, books, websites and I was allowed to use my friends experience for Bears story. Tinheads story I didn’t want it to actually go the way it did but I did loads more research into this as it was completely walking blind I used some of my family members experiences, but I watched tons of documentaries, short films, long films and true life story films and went on several charity sites to make sure I was accurate with such a sensitive subject. So yes you could say I’m very thorough.
Do you prefer to write in silence or with noise? Why?
I use music to inspire me so I either have music blasting in my earbud or out of my laptop in my writing cavern. (spare room) So I know a lot of author have certain songs in their playlist where with me I can’t choose; I’m too indecisive. But I tend to have certain artists for my characters so for Dagger for instance he loves Black Sabbath, so I had them on repeat with The White Buffalo (love him), then with Kelly I had Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato on repeat when writing her scenes.
What are your favorite authors?
I won’t number them as it’s too damn hard, but I will tell you the authors book I could read over and over I love them but 10 is so hard but here are some of my favs. Jordan Marie, Aleisha Marie, Sylvia Day, Jaci J, Georgia Le Carre, Geri Glenn, S. Courtney, Jodi Ellen Malpas, Sherri Hayes, Bella Jewel, Stephenie Meyer, Chelle Bliss, Ryan Michelle,
What is your writing process? For instance do you do an outline first? Do you do the chapters first?
I kind of do both if I have an idea for a story come to me, I jot it down and then roughly outline what I want to happen in the book ie like big events. Then look at the first handful of chapters to see how I want them to play out and I let the characters have free range when writing sometimes certain chapters have merged into one or been shifted later on in the book. I tend to have certain scenes, conversations with my characters that come to me and I don’t know when they are going to fit into the book.
Advice they would give new authors?
The same as I was given! Do it, write it get your thoughts, voices, characters out there. Just do it!! Find what works for you just because one person writes one way doesn’t mean that’s right for you. And when you need to bend an ear or help come message me I love to help anyway I can.
