Genre: Contemporary Romance

Picture
Two people scared to love again. Two others hesitant about commitment. A weekend in Nevada will change all that.

Bristol Ashcombe is swearing off men and taking a vacation with her friend, Cassie. Damon Dougan is packed and ready to leave the ranch for a trip, that is, until a long-legged, sexy woman steps out of a vehicle and he decides to stay. Will one sex filled weekend be enough for either of them?

Cassie Harding travels to the Double D ranch, to meet Bristol and looks forward to seeing her old friend, Dakota. Dak’s excited when Cassie, his former sweetheart, returns. Cassie and Dakota, though they’re heating up ‘the sheets’ in and out of the bedroom, have fears about commitment after years of being single. Will they find it’s better to dance together than apart?

Wild West Weekend—Double D Ranch Tales (Book 1), a contemporary, chick-lit, erotic romance story set in Nevada.

He shifted, moved out of the tub and knelt next to it. Holding up a washcloth, he instructed her to sit back.
She reclined again, closed her eyes. Slow and steady, the material caressed her shoulders, her neck, skimmed down to her chest. With gentle movements, he washed her body, always making sure, much to her chagrin, only cloth touched her skin. The fabric, under his strong competent hand, danced along her chest, down and around her legs, graced her crotch. Her nipples hardened with desire, peaked in the water. She arched her back.
A low, seductive chuckle rolled from him. “Impatient, my dear?”
Through half-open eyelids, she gazed at him. She wanted him with an intensity that shocked her. The desire wasn’t just for the sex either. It was for the connection that would occur, the joining of their emotions, the merging of their souls while they loved and created a beautiful bond between them. “Why, yes, I am.” Cassie reached out and ran the palm of her hand down the mid-line of his chest.
Dak grasped her hand, kissed the backs of her fingers. “What about your hair?”
“Already washed today.” She slid her gaze down to his sexy lips. A tiny sigh escaped her. Before she could take her next breath, he clasped the back of her head, claimed her lips with his own.
His free hand slipped into the water and fondled her breast as his lips moved sensuously upon hers. She reached up, took his head in her hands and threaded her fingers in his silky hair. Their tongues warred and sparred in ardent foreplay. She wished the tub wasn’t between them.
She pulled away, observed his darkened and hooded gaze fill with desire. As they stared into each other’s eyes, he massaged the back of her head while the other hand moved to the junction between her thighs. He stroked and tweaked her clit, slid a finger within her slit. Her mind whirred with passion. She moaned and writhed as he brought her to the edge of ecstasy and over the cliff. Her body tensed, vibrated with release.
Her breath caught in her throat. No man had ever done what he had. None had ever watched her with such rapture, looked at her with such devotion, while she came. He cupped her face, pecked her forehead with a kiss.
“God, Catherine, you’re beautiful. I want to make love to you, cherish you, treat you like a goddess. I want this experience to be different than what you’re used to, no domination or submission or kinky role playing. Just two people loving each other. Can you handle that?”

Double D Ranch Tales Book 2

Picture
In life and the afterlife, on the Double D Ranch one belief holds true—the power of love changes lives.

With cowboys, ghosts, modern day women, hot dreams, pre-wedding relations and a bit of sexy time travel, life promises to be one wild time on the ranch again.

Rachel Star has met the man of her dreams … literally. Too bad he’s a ghost. When true love crosses boundaries from dreams to reality and across time, the Double D ranch is the place it happens. It takes the love of a man from the past, Dalton Dougan, to bring love full circle in the present for Rachel.

Bristol Ashcombe, soon to be Dougan, is ready to have her baby … and so is a poltergeist. Can the love of a woman for her man and child sustain her during the most horrible of terrors? Can the love between family and friends really dispel the evil haunting them?

“I guess you don’t mind?” she inquired, just to be safe.
“Not at all,” he drawled in his sexy voice.
“Good.” His cock was full and heavy on her palm. She flicked her tongue over its slit again, wrapped her lips around the thick tip. Stroking its base with one hand, she caressed his thigh with the other.
A long moan sounded above her. Fingers threaded through her hair. His hips thrust toward her, and she edged him in even deeper. Rachel bobbed her head up and down, licking, sucking, enticing him.
“Ah, darlin’ Rae, you ignite my passion.” Dalton slid out of her mouth.
“Why’d you stop me? Didn’t you enjoy it?”
“I enjoyed it just fine.” He slid his hand over her hair, knelt down in front of her. “I love you. I want to feel you encompass me. I want to hear my name whispered in lust and desire from your lips.” He kissed her forehead, gazed into her eyes. “Well, I will pray to God on high that thou my constancy mayst see,” Dalton quoted lyrics from Greensleeves, “And that yet once before I die, thou wilt vouchsafe to love me.”
The universe condensed between them to one solid moment in time. Her counterpart blossomed under his loving gaze, returned his sentiments a hundredfold and then some. All the scientific beliefs and presumptions she’d held about life, love and the great cosmos were overridden.
Rae accepted her connection with Dalton with total faith. Rachel decided she should, too. She no longer needed theories, experiments and hypotheses to rationalize the bond she and Dalton shared across the ages. Through her Wild West counterpart, she experienced a devotion she never thought she would. The man who stood before her was the love of Rae’s life, of hers. Her heart belonged to Dalton as much as his heart was hers.
This is what the poets and lovers meant when they spoke of enduring love, forever and eternity.
Dalton was hers for all time, just as she was his. The primal axiom comforted her. She was loved, and she loved, forever and always. Wasn’t that what life was all about anyway?
A tap on her shoulder jarred the moment between her and Dalton and brought her crashing back to present day. Jumping from the shock of where she’d been and the sudden loss of what she’d been feeling, tears sprung to her eyes. She spun to face the interrupter.
“Are you all right, Rachel?” Miguel’s long-lashed gaze stared at her with concern.
“I… I don’t know.” She shuffled to a couch and plopped down. Off balance and unsure what to believe anymore, she surveyed the room. I probably appear like I’m looking at the place for the first time and confused to boot. Not far from the truth either.
Marianne rushed to sit by her side. “Oh my God, Rachel. You had another episode, didn’t you?”
Rachel couldn’t find the words to explain the situation—the feelings and epiphany she’d had. She nodded.
“It was crazy,” her sister continued. “You just stood there. You didn’t say anything, didn’t move, didn’t respond to any of us. You scared the living daylights out of me.” She swept out her arm. “Of all of us.”
“Sorry. I don’t… I don’t quite know what happened.”
The doors flew open, and Cassie came running in. She cradled books in her arms. “I figured out where I know you from.” She occupied the empty space next to her. “Look at this.” Cassie opened what turned out to be a leather-bound photo album and pointed to an old brown-gray picture.
Rachel’s stomach clenched around what felt like a rock.
“Doesn’t it look like you?” Cassie inquired with an excited voice.
Afraid to admit it out loud, Rachel bobbed her head once. The woman looking up at her from the page was the same one she’d seen in the mirror.

“Feisty is good for the soul.” She made sure to lock gazes with him after the words left her throat.
And finally, something she’d tried worked. Kind of. He stared at her, the amber in his brown eyes sparkling with untold secrets. A flutter started in her stomach, then fanned out through her entire body. She ached to wrap her arms around him and kiss his lips. But she wouldn’t because, other than the passion in his gaze, the tell-tale signs that he thought of her in a sexual way were non-existent at the moment.
Stubborn man. Still running hot and cold. I’ll have to rethink what I need to do to snag him.
Resigned to enjoy their excursion as just a friendly gesture on his part, she sighed and moved to the back of the cave to survey the other goodies.
A section of bottled water and a variety of other drinks caught her attention. Before she could open her mouth and comment, strong arms wrapped her body from behind silencing her mind and voice.
“I struggled last night, and I’ve fought my feelings all morning to keep my hands off you,” his deep voice murmured against her ear. He pressed his pelvic region against her ass. “And as you may notice, I’m losin’ the fight.”
She smoothed her hands over his. Soft and supple they were not. Kent’s palms and fingers held weathered signs of a man who worked the land. She wanted them touching her, all over her body. She wanted the hard cock pressing against her back out of his jeans and sliding in and out of her pussy. Squeezing his hands sent his lips against her ear followed by a sweet lingering kiss.
“Maggie…I can’t give you what you probably want…a relationship…but I can give you what you need.”
Still snug in his arms, she half turned. “How do you know what I want?”
“Doesn’t every woman want more than one moment? I’m really starting to like you, and the last thing I want to do is hurt you. Thing is, I’m not a relationship kinda guy.”
Honestly, she didn’t want or need forever, especially after the way she’d been treated in her marriage and put through hell five years ago during her divorce. On top of that, she’d endured one disastrous affair after another when she entered the dating world. She just wanted right now. The urge to feel desired, revered and break her multi-month dry spell propelled her. The warmth running through her body intensified at the thought of him making love to her.
Finishing the turn, she faced him. “I promise the only concern on my mind, my only want today, is to have you screaming my name with passion within the hour.”

What’s the inspiration for the series?
~ The inspiration for the Double D Ranch Tales series stemmed from a trip I went on where I stayed on a working ranch. There were ranchers/cowboys, horses, trail rides, campfires, cattle and food cooked outside. My muse started asking, "What if?" When I returned home with a handful of ideas, I went to RM and said, "Guess what we're going to write about." From there we wrote
Wild West Weekend, followed by Wild West Hauntings and then the short story Wild West Promise.

What was your favorite scene to write? Why?
~ I have to say I like the graveyard scenes where the paranormal/supernatural bits come into place. They’re gritty and plays on my love of horror.

Give us an interesting and fun fact about your book and/or its characters.
~ It takes place outside the Las Vegas metropolitan area. If you’ve ever been to Red Rock NCA (or if you look it up online), you’ll notice that the descriptions in the book (& the others in our series) are of that area.

How did you come up with the title to the stories in the series?
~ Well, when it comes to the Double D tales, we start off with Wild West and then the third word plays on what’s going on in the story. The Double D is because of the names of the guys. Wild West came from the stories being set in southern NV. Wild West not only from a historical aspect, but also because the characters get a bit wild and it’s near Las Vegas, a wild and crazy town in the west.

What’s the best piece of writing advice you’ve received? The worst?
~ Best: Plant butt in chair and write. (Granted, I’m not always good at taking that advice…) Worst: I’ve had some questionable critiques early on in my career. But as for ‘advice’ advice, I can’t really think of anything. I’ve always taken into consideration what someone has said and taken what I can from it—if anything—and leave the rest if I really don’t feel it fits me.

What has been your most rewarding experience since becoming a published author?
~ There are a number of them. I can be my own boss and set my own hours. If I want to work during the day I can. If I want to work late at night into the wee hours of the morning I can. I can work in my jammies and not have to worry about a bad hair day! I've been able to travel a bit more and meet some great people. I also enjoy giving a helping hand to other writers and seeing their dreams come to fruition. It’s also been pretty cool meeting people who are excited about meeting me and who say they’ve enjoyed my stories. :)

Do you have any unique talents or hobbies?
~ I crochet. I can shoot. I paint.

Three words that best describe you:
~ People have said that I’m funny, loyal, & some say honest, while others call it blunt…

Tell us about yourself.
Hi everyone, my name is Casey, and I write under the names C.R. My professional bio for C.R.: An eccentric and eclectic writer, C.R. No matter the path, her stories will take you on a journey from the light-hearted paranormal to dark things unspeakable. What waits around the corner? Come explore…

What genre do you write and why?
As C.R. Moss, I like to dabble in a bunch of different sub-genres under the erotic romance umbrella, though I tend to lean more toward contemporary, time travel, western and chick-lit. Being able to take from different sub-genres allows me to go in the direction the story calls for.

What made you become a writer and how did you get your start?
For a very brief period of time, I had ideas of becoming a teacher or an astronaut. Both occurred before the age of ten. But for the most part, I knew I wanted to write at a young age, as early as I learned to read. I was always cooking up stories to entertain myself in the rural area I lived in. Had to since there were no other kids around to play with. My defining moment came when I received an A in English in grade school. I was just shy of being a teenager when I had my ‘calling.’ Ever since then, most of my choices in life have revolved around my goal of becoming a full-time fiction writer and being published.
Upon my ‘calling’ I wrote a story for a magazine. It’d been rejected, but that was my start. After that, I began studying the craft of writing. It started with working on the school newspaper in middle school to creative writing classes and Teens Art Festivals in high school. I received a BA in Communications, Information and Library Studies from Rutgers College with a strong concentration in English Lit/Writing and Interpersonal Communications/PR. Studying under the mentorship of Terri Valentine (author of ‘Sands of Time,’ a Zebra Historical Romance), I honed my novel writing skills. In the mid to late 2000s, I finally put my foot down, got over my nerves and took the plunge into submitting stories to publishers. I’ve been published since 2008.

Tell us about your series.
The germ of an idea for the Double D Ranch Tales series started when I took a writing vacation at a working ranch and was around the cowboys, campfires, cattle, horses, eating outdoors… Well, you get the picture. So, my muse started asking, “What if?” What if there were a couple of friends who went to a ranch to get away from their lives for a bit? What if they hooked up with a couple of sexy cowboys? My writing partner and I had already worked on one project together, and when I got home, I called her up and said, “Guess what we’re writing next.” From there we came up with the ranch, the characters and how the heroines chose that ranch to go to and the rest is history.

What have you found to be the most challenging?
In writing with a co-partner - getting our schedules to sync up.
In writing erotic romance - sometimes the sex scenes. The mechanics are okay, but it's getting the right emotions and sensual aspects across at the right moments.
In publishing - sometimes all the promotion an author has to do.
