Hell On Wheels The Kings of Mayhem MC Book 4
by Penny Dee Genre: MC Romantic Suspense
I left here a man but came back a beast
A shoulder-fired missile broke my body.
But betrayal obliterated my heart.
For months I lingered in and out of hell until my body healed.
Now I’m back in town with my club brothers. But I am still fighting a war of darkness in my head and I can’t see a way out.
Then she comes to town like a summer breeze and makes me feel things I didn’t know existed.
She has the voice of an angel and the body of a goddess.
But she is running from her own demons. From the Devil himself.
He's coming to town.
But I've walked through hell and survived, and I'll walk through it again to protect her.
CASSIDY I’ve spent years running from my past.
Town to town.
State to state.
Never putting down roots.
I wish I could but I can’t. Because I am running from the Devil and if he finds me, he will drag me down to hell again.
Then I meet a beautiful, scarred beast of man who makes me feel something for the first time in my life.
He makes me want to stay but it’s impossible.
Because the Devil is coming and when he arrives I won't stand a chance.
Hell on Wheels is book four in the Kings of Mayhem MC series
I was about to make a huge mistake.
And when I say huge, I mean, approximately ten inches’ worth of mistake.
But after the week I’d had, this was just what I needed. A night of big bad mistakes with a big bad biker.
Finding out your boyfriend is a cheating loser is a real buzz kill. Finding out you’re actually the other woman, is devastating. Call it temporary insanity, but I decide the best way to get over the loser I’d dated for two years is to get under a biker with tattoos, dimples and a hard body he knows how to use.
He’s going to make everything better with numerous mind-blowing orgasms. But just for one night.
Except one faulty condom means my one-night stand isn’t so one-night after all.
After a night of insane sex, the beautiful blue-eyed brunette gave me the slip. And even with all the women on offer afterwards, I can’t get her off my mind. So when she turns up at the Kings of Mayhem MC compound I’m quick to give her a second night of amazing sex and crazy orgasms. But this time, I’m not ready to let her go.
There’s just one problem— she’s not interested.
But if she thinks she’s going to give me the slip again, then she’s got another thing coming. I know she is keeping a secret from me but I don’t care what it is. I want her and I’m going to make her mine.
Biker Baby, book three in the Kings of Mayhem MC series.

They took someone from me.
And I’m going to make them pay.
But before I can do that, I have to make sure my girl is safe.
And I will do whatever I have to, even break my own heart, to make sure she survives.
Because she is my queen.
His grief is overwhelming and I can feel the gap widening between us.
Someone is coming after the Kings of Mayhem MC.
And we are trapped as they play out their evil scheme.
Because under the cover of darkness, they are coming for each of us, one by one, to play out their own twisted vendetta.
And no one is safe.
For readers 18+. This book contains profanity, explicit sex, and violence including murder and one madman’s psychopathic tendencies. It also contains two people destined for one another and how they keep it together when everything else around them is falling apart.
I’ve loved her since we were five years old.
We grew up side by side.
Two kids tied together by the Kings of Mayhem Motorcycle Club.
But I broke us.
I broke her.
So, she fled.
Now she’s back after twelve long years.
And I’m going to show her all the reasons why we should be together and make her forget all the reasons why we shouldn’t.
I’m back in town but only because I have to be.
I’m here to help my mom bury my father.
And the sooner we get it done, the better.
Because I want to see Cade as much as I want a hole in the head.
He broke me once—no, he broke my everything— and I’ll be damned if I’ll let him do it again.
Get in and get out. That is the plan.
But you know what they say about best-laid plans.
Penny Dee writes contemporary romance about rockstars, bikers, hockey players and everyone in-between. She believes true love never runs smoothly, and her characters realize this too, with a boatload of drama and a whole lot of steam.
She found her happily ever after in Australia where she lives with her husband, daughter and a dog named Bindi.
Tell us something really interesting that's happened to you!
Life! It’s pretty damn interesting really.
What are some of your pet peeves?
Lack of courtesy. Rudeness. I’m all about the good vibes so this just irks me. You can change someone’s day with a smile, or ruin it with bad vibes. Don’t be a douche. Be kind.
Where were you born/grew up at?
I was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia when I was fifteen.
What are you passionate about these days?
Living life to the fullest. Being happy. Growing as an author.
What do you do to unwind and relax?
Red wine or a walk on the beach. I live on the Gold Coast in Australia and we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There is nothing like a sunset walk or early morning stroll along the beach. I also meditate and try to find gratitude in every moment.
How to find time to write as a parent?
I got up at 3.30am and wrote until 5.30am to finish my first novel. I’m a wife and a mother, and at the time I worked full time. It was the only time I could squeeze writing into my day.
Describe yourself in 5 words or less!
A rock n roll flower child.
Do you have a favorite movie?
Oh man, there are so many!! Grease, for a musical. No wait, Rockey Horror Picture Show for a musical. Sweet Home Alabama for romance. Dogma for dark humor. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café . . . just because!
Which of your novels can you imagine made into a movie?
Hmmmmm . . . I think the Kings of Mayhem MC series would be a great movie!
As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
My spirit animal is definitely a Moon Bear. I love them. And it kills me that they are tortured for their bile duct. I’m a supporter of Animals Asia who save Moon Bears from cages. So many beautiful people giving their time and expertise to help these magnificant creatures.
What inspired you to write the Kings of Mayhem MC series?
I was driving to work and the prologue just appeared in my head. Then I left it alone for two years because I was so busy with life. When I finished my sports romance, Come Undone, I was flicking through all my story ideas and came across Kings of Mayhem. I decided to finish it . . . I had no idea it was going to be a series at the time.
What can we expect from you in the future?
Lots of books. Heaps of steamy romance. Gorgeous characters. Page-turning storylines.
Do you have any “side stories” about the characters?
Grandma Sybil is a favorite character with readers. She is the seventy-something, original biker queen. She is very cool and very funny. I like her backstory; being the original queen of bikers when her husband started the Kings of Mayhem back in the sixties. She is feisty and I’m sure if I delved deeper there would be an amazing story there!
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in The Kings of Mayhem MC series?
Fiercely protective alpha kings and their sexy, sassy queens.
How did you come up with the concept and characters for the series?
They turned up when I was plotting and writing. They just appeared. Walked right up and immersed themselves into the story.
Where did you come up with the names in the story?
They just jumped into my head. I knew Cade’s name as that very first scene revealed itself.
What did you enjoy most about writing this series?
I knew the characters well by the end of it and there was a real sense of family about the MC. I loved them all. Loved their tough outer shells and their wildly, passionate hearts.
Tell us about your main characters- what makes them tick?
They are motivated by passion and family.
Who designed your book covers?
Marisa at Cover Me Darling.
If your series was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead in Kings of Mayhem?
If only Matt Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold was an actor!!
If you could spend time with a character from your series whom would it be? And what would you do during that day?
Probably Caleb, the youngest of the Calley brothers and the main character in Biker Baby. He is all kinds of delicious. I’d get him to give me a tattoo.
Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?
They’re complete fiction!
Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story?
I steer the ship but they tend to take over when it comes to reacting to the things happening to them or what is happening around them. And they have total control over the dialogue!
If your series had a candle, what scent would it be?
LOL this is a very unique question and the hippy in me simply can’t resist answering. The Kings of Mayhem MC series is pure Patchouli.
What did you edit out of this book?
So many scenes! Things the beta readers didn’t like. Or scenes that no longer fit after I finished writing. I share my deleted scenes on the Kings of Mayhem MC page on Facebook.
How long have you been writing?
Since I could hold a pen. Granted, my stories were more pictures than words back then.
Do the characters all come to you at the same time or do some of them come to you as you write?
They pop up while I am writing. One character turned up when I’d finished the first draft, so I had to go back and weave her into the story.
Do you read yourself and if so what is your favorite genre?
Romance. Erotica. Suspense. Crime.
Do you prefer to write in silence or with noise? Why?
Depends on my mood. Usually I like music playing. I always try to create a good vibe when I’m setting up my space to write. Natural light. Salt lamps. DoTerra defuser or incense. Music. I like my sacred spaces. They are an important part of the writing process.
Do you write one book at a time or do you have several going at a time?
I have so many stories running around in my head but force myself to focus on just the one at a time. Else I’d never finish a book.
Pen or type writer or computer?
I write a lot of long-hand when I am plotting. I guess there’s something a bit more textural to it that helps my creativity. But I write most of the book with my laptop.
Tell us about a favorite character from a book.
I love Jake Pennington, the tortured hockey player from Come Undone. He’s probably my favorite. He is sexy af.
A day in the life of the author?
Start the day with a black coffee and a walk. See my husband off to work and then its straight into it. I break from writing to meditate (usually when my butt has gone numb from sitting) or to go to the gym. Then I write until my hubby comes home from work. I’d love to say I knock off work then but I don’t. I usually keep doing some kind of author stuff until well after dinnertime.
Advice they would give new authors?
Always write what you want to write. No-one can do you like you. And write everyday. You’ve just got to show up for the magic to start.
What is your writing process? For instance do you do an outline first? Do you do the chapters first? What are common traps for aspiring writers?
I used to be a panster but it took too long to write a book. And quite often I’d write myself into a corner. So now I outline. Then I break that outline into scenes, and then those scenes into chapters. Then I make a list of things I want to happen in that chapter.
What is your writing Kryptonite?
TV. If that is on, then I get nothing done!
If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
Ignore the negative chatterbox (self doubt) in your head and just write!
What’s the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
I find them easier and more interesting to write. I suppose that’s because I really have to explore the far regions of my imagination in order to do so.
Do you believe in writer’s block?
I believe in writer’s distraction. When you’re too busy with other things going on to give your story/writing your full attention (life happens!). I also think you get stuck because you don’t know something about the character or the story. When this happens you need to stop and go back over your plot, or get to know your character better. I interviewed one of my characters once and found out so much more about her. Doing that allowed me to proceed with writing the bit I was stuck on.
