Halloween has always been my favorite holiday because I just love the decorations and the fun, and of course the cooler temps. As I've gotten older I've come to really appreciate thanksgiving and christmas because I get to spend time with my family. But Halloween will always be a favorite.

I actually love the whole "cozy season" most of all, and have to come to really appreciate it in a different way as I've gotten older. But I've long said that my favorite holiday (out of the whole year) is Christmas Eve. Growing up, it was the most magical, silly, warm, and beautiful times of the year for my little family.

I love Christmas! I especially look forward to Christmas Eve every year. We have a house full of family and friends. We have a fondue, gift swap and play games such as charades and Pictionary. We start to gather in the early afternoon so everyone can get home at a reasonable hour to get their kids to bed.

I like Halloween because it's the one holiday where I don't have to act a certain way, dress a certain way, etc. I love all the Halloween decorations and I love the excuse to dress as a favorite character (I'm too old to trick-or-treat, but that doesn't stop me from dressing up). My creativity just flows around Halloween and I'm probably in the best mood I've been all year.
