Her new love, Maxwell Howard a werewolf, who through sharing blood with Emerald, now faces the same fate as Emerald and Stefan. For the cure to work, Emerald has to put her hatred of Stefan aside and consent to share his bed again.
Can Emerald put 300 years of anger aside to save them or will she sacrifice all their futures and kill him as she swore to do?
Conroy was waiting to escort us into the dining room. Violet was sitting at the head of the table with two place settings one on each side of her. “Come sit. There is no reason to be shy here.” Max took the one on her left while I took the other side. “Now, let’s have a lovely dinner, then you can tell me all about yourselves. I have to confess I have never met a werewolf before.”
We followed her lead and talked of nothing important throughout dinner, when we were finished she led us into my father’s old study.
“Would either of you care for an after dinner drink or some tea?”
I knew it was a test, so I answered in my most professional voice.
“Coffee would be lovely, thank you. Cream and sugar please.”
She gave me a look I couldn’t read. “Very good, my dear. You will make a lovely La Roe.”
“What do you mean a lovely La Roe, I am already one?”
“Of course you are my dear, but being a La Roe is and means more than just a name. You must carry yourself as it now benefits your station in life. The Isle of Man is now part of Great Britain also Northern Ireland, and as such, you are now accountable to both of them. You are considered one of the last of royalty left here and must behave as such, your people need you to guide them throughout life and the courts.”
“Courts? What are you talking about? My father was a duke, but I cannot claim the title Princess gained from my marriage, no one can know I am still alive.”
“Your being a Princess is exactly what I am referring too.
My name is Dee, I am a mother of 5 amazing children and 4 grandchildren. My First Novel, La Roe's was nominated for the Golden Rose Awards in 2006. It has been re-released and is available on Amazon thanks to the amazing editing help from Cindy, Personalized Marketing Inc manager. My Second novel Fay's Wish was just re-released in eBook format.
My 3rd Novel Chocolate Seduction of the Cursed Seduction Series is currently being revised for future publication.
I have also Ghost Written 2 additional books, and written hundreds of articles.
I enjoy spending time with my children, being a grandmother, sitting down to a good book, and learning more about the career that has changed my life. I have been working online since 2005, beginning my journey as an Author, then a Reviewer, Freelance Publicist, and then found a love for websites, coding, most recently WordPress.
It has been 15 years since my first novel, originally La Roe’s, now La Roe's Curse, due to my kids going "La Roe's what?", released and it has been 8 years since I have started writing a fiction book. However, there is a new one in the works and it has caught me totally by surprise. It happens to be a contemporary romance with an American woman and a Chinese man. I hope to convey joy, sadness, anger, frustration, and all the key emotions but I also want people to laugh at times too. My other stories, unless it was dark humor did not have a lot of comedic elements or events.
For those that have read La Roe’s or Fay’s Wish know that I tend to write paranormal romances in first point of view. I am also a panster, I generally do not have a plot line or much of anything except the main lady when I begin. However, with this story I found myself collecting information about the locations, character information including their names and meanings behind them, images that I felt represented them.
I always research the names of my characters; I want names that represent either their nature or features. Like many authors I also have an idea of what they look like and generally write that out. This time though I needed too, no had too, hunt images that looked like what I had forming in my head. I am also not known for bouncing between different stories, I try to stick it out until I am done with edits, or so in the past, but I cannot put this story aside. I have had beginning of scenes play out in my head walking down the road, making coffee, doing various other things including writing this post.
I went to do as I have in the past and write down what was happening in my head but then that is when the research took over. Needless to say, this book is shaping up completely different than anything else I have written in the fiction category. Sure, when I write articles for #PMInc or content for clients, I am either resourcing from work experience or I have information pulled up. Fiction writing, though I believe the correct term is creative writing, I just think that more than novels are creative.
I do not know if I have evolved into a different type of writer or if it is just for this book. No matter what happens… I want to say to the new story, ‘Don’t Leave A Scar’ or at least make it one worth having.
