Red Sin
Sin Series Book 1
by Aleatha Romig
Genre: Steamy Romantic Suspense

Picture
Red is the color of blood, sacrifice, danger, and courage. It’s also associated with heat, passion, and sexuality. When two people meet unexpectedly with an inexplicable attraction that defies common understanding...it can be called RED SIN.

Julia and Van found one another in a shaken snow globe. Stranded in a blizzard, they embraced being two individuals with no last names. The plan was to walk away from each other with no regrets—until that plan changed.

Julia’s life was delivered a staggering blow the day she discovered her fiancé’s infidelity. The night she met a handsome stranger, one who showed her the possibility of a life filled with more than the fulfillment of expectations, she took a chance.

When it comes to business, Donovan Sherman is a wolf—a bloodthirsty carnivore who leaves wounded prey and victims in his wake. He learned from the best, his onetime nemesis and now-mentor, Lennox Demetri, who showed him that opportunities are only ripe for those willing to risk it all, a lesson Donovan took to heart.

With Julia McGrath, Donovan must decide if this beautiful woman who showed him the meaning of red sin will fall victim as his prey or if after experiencing the unbridled passion, there is more that he wants.

From New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a brand-new age-gap, family saga, chance meeting, contemporary romantic-suspense novel in the world of high finance, where success is sweet and revenge is sweeter.

Have you been Aleatha’d?

*Van and Julia's journey begins in the full-length novel, RED SIN, book one of the new SIN SERIES and continues in GREEN ENVY.

Lifting the bottle of wine, I knew that I was losing my battle with myself. The restraint I’d exercised throughout the day disappeared with the sunlight. Much like the wolves that came and went from my property, I had my prey in my sights and any self-control I’d forced myself to exhibit waned with each passing second. My hunger was growing to the point of starvation, and it wasn’t food that I sought.
Julia walked beyond the sofa and fireplace to the windows and stared out toward the bay. “I can’t describe how I feel right now.” She spun toward me. “It’s new.”
I could stare at her for hours. Julia carried herself in a way that exhibited confidence and need at the same time. The dichotomy was fascinating. Her openness and honesty were inviting. It wasn’t simply her beauty and her youth; Julia had a presence that lured me toward her.
“Tell me.”
She shrugged. “It’s consuming, you know, as they talk about in books. I didn’t think the kind of attraction that they described was real. I’ve never been attracted to someone so much that everything else in life pales in importance.”
Her admission made me smile. “You described it well.” After setting the bottle of wine on the table between the sofa and fireplace, I took a step toward her. “I can describe what I see.” I scanned from Julia’s painted toenails to her beautiful yellow hair, no longer contained in a twist as it had been earlier in the day. Now it flowed over her slender shoulders creating a wavy veil.
Her lips parted and closed.
“You’re stunning, Julia. There’s no denying that. If Butler didn’t tell you that a thousand times a day, he didn’t truly see what a rare gift he wasted. The thing is, as gorgeous as you are, your beauty isn’t your greatest asset. When I see you and I’m near you, I sense your energy, your vitality, and your genuineness. Those are rare qualities.
“I spend a lot of time alone, but I also spend time with business, here in Wisconsin and while traveling. The authenticity I sense in you is unique.” Taking another step toward her, I reached for the stem of her glass and set it on a nearby table. “I could become addicted.”
She inclined her chin, keeping her blue eyes fixed on me. “Van, right now, I’m not sure about who you think I am. I’m different when I’m with you.”
“I can’t imagine you any other way.”

Can you, for those who don’t know you already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
My first book, CONSEQUENCES, released in 2011. In 2008 with two children in college, my husband lost his job. He went to work nights at a local box store for insurance. I was a dental hygienist working 6 days a week. Our youngest son was home, but I went from an active house of five plus friends in and out, to a very quiet house where our youngest was in bed at eight o’clock. One night, I decided to write a story.
The story (Titled CLAIRE’S STORY on the first draft) was about a woman who had been abducted. I would work all day, thinking about what happened next, and then I’d write at night when my house was quiet. I never dreamed that I’d publish that story or that it would one day be on over a million e-readers. I never dreamed that the series would make me a New York Time’s bestseller. I wanted what readers want, an escape.
My daughter said I wrote to control Claire’s world, because my world was out of control.

What are some of my pet peeves?

My number one pet peeve is when things jump on my screen, be it my phone or computer. I want to click one thing and then I click something else! Ugg. It drives me nuts. I’m also not a fan of shoes or pants….lol. Shorts and sandals is the way to go.

What do I do to relax and unwind?
Right now, it’s post season baseball, and our family are huge Boston Red Sox fans. (We live in Indiana, but it’s a long story). So to relax, I pour a glass of red wine and watch baseball. Any other time of the year, relaxing is when our family comes home. My husband and I have been married for 35 years and we love being with our children, in-law children, and grandchildren.
Give me a pool or a beach and I’m in heaven.

What literary pilgrimages have I gone on?
Funny you should ask. My new series, The Sin Series, is set in northern Wisconsin. So this past summer, my husband and I drove up to Ashland. I wanted to get a feel for the people, the area, and all that northern Wisconsin had to offer.
It is stunningly beautiful.
While we were there in July, my story starts in December. I had to imagine everything covered in a layer of snow.
I also write a lot of my books in Chicago. I love that city. I grew up in northern Indiana and we would often go to Chicago for field trips –to the museums and to shop –we’d take the SouthShore. Our oldest son and his significant other lived outside of Chicago for 7 years and we visited often.
We’ve also visited other settings of my books. With over 45 titles… there are many!

Where was I born/ grew up?
I was born in southern Michigan. I moved to Northern Indiana (close to Notre Dame) when I was five. I lived in Mishawaka until I graduated high school. At eighteen I moved to Bloomington, Indiana for college. I then moved to Indianapolis, the state capital, to finish my degree at the dental school. I was a dental hygienist for twenty-five years.
My husband and I have stayed in the Indianapolis area, living in our current home for 27 years.
In 2013 I became a full-time author, working from home. In 2017 we purchased a winter home in Bradenton, Florida. Now we divide our time between Florida and Indiana. It’s the best of both worlds… the beach, the sunshine, the bright blue skies in winter and the corn fields, green grass, and our family in the summer.
